Fill in the fear

Chapter 2-Written by Joe Last

 Once everyone calmed and seated around forming a circle on the floor with the candlelight in the centre giving a dim yellow light to just about see Veronicas and Martys horrified expressions and Alysons wicked smile.

"There is simply one rule: the person willing to sacrifice there life for my beloved sister will simply need to claim yourself to me. You have five minutes to decide and if neither of you do, then I will unleash the most horrific beast Shadyside has ever seen" Alyson soon began to chuckle in a fit of laughter.

Marty signalled to me and Veronica, twitching his head towards the front door. I knew exactly what Marty wanted to do. I nodded my head slightly to Marty and veronica. A huge gust of summer wind breezed through the room knocking the candle light on the floor putting the hay covering the floor ablaze, the room still dark as the outside night, Marty, Veronica and I quickly got up and ran outside.

 At first it was hard to  remember where I had parked the car but Marty soon found it. I quickly unlocked the car and we all jumped in. Making sure all the doors and windows were locked.

The air in the car was now very hot from all the tension, Veronica finally spoke "Is Alyson really being serious?"  

"well if she wasn't she sure is a great actor, and did you hear that laugh? She did not even sound the same!"

I stared at the clock on the dashboard of my car 23:58. "we have two minutes left"

"Then let's go then!!" Marty shouted.

I quickly turned the key and the engine roomed into action, I quickly pressed the gear and drove full speed straight into the darkness.

Veronica looked outside the window of her seat and could hardly see because we were going too fast.

I quickly braked causing everyone to jerk out of their seats. "The five minutes are over"

"But why did you have to stop?" Marty said.

I kept silent but pointed to the windscreen outside.

Outside was a huge 1o feet Winged creature with grey blue scales and sharp pointy horns across all of its slimly body. It seemed covered in a think white liquid and sharp overgrown claws. Without the creatures wings its body could easily be mistaken for a muscular man.

Suddenly it opened its mouth, revealing its sharp yellow black teeth and screamed "Wraappp"  the scream was like nails on blackboard, the endless noise seemed to stop but then the creature began to take a step towards the car.

The creature was drawing closer and closer, I was just numb and watched to not even think of doing anything. Suddenly the creature flapped it wings and disappeared into the sky.

After a few moments I came out of the shock and quickly pressed the gas and sped down the road.

"what the hell was that?" Veronica said.

Suddenly the roof of the car lowered and the windows cracked, smashing glass into all of our faces, the car roof lowered so much that we all had to duck into a crouching position. we soon were being lifted in the air, we all screamed in high pitches.

Suddenly the back car door opened, I looked back to see Marty crying "Sorry guys, I need to get out of here" And he jumped outside of the car,  we soon waited to here a thud of Marty's crashing body hitting the ground but strangely we did not.

I and Veronica soon hugged each other for dear life, crying not knowing what to do next. Suddenly the creature screamed loudly sending shivers all over our bodies. The car seemed to be free falling in the air! The creature had dropped us somewhere. Suddenly we crashed onto something hard. Cold  black tiles fell through the shattered car window, we had landed on a roof.

Soon the weight of the car was too heavy to support that the roof began to collapse and we fell through, suddenly I remembered just where we were-the barn house. It looked much different now that it was completely on fire and burning, I looked at Veronica but saw her eyes closed I tried to shake her but her body flopped and there was blood on her forehead-she was dead.

I quickly got out and found blood all under the car, we had squashed the other three. Tears began to flow from my eyes, the heat of the fire surrounded me, I feel to the ground hard. Then there standing above me was Alyson, she seemed calm as if the fire did not affect her at all.

She smiled at me, I cried "Please help me-"
