❛ ʏᴇʀɪɴ ❜

I stared at him in awe as he looked out the window to he the charming evening scenery. If only he knew. He was a perfect scenery himself.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" He suddenly asked, still not facing me. "I can see your reflection."

"Nothing." I said, a sheepish smile on my face. "It's just that.... you look so happy."

"Well, of course I'm happy. I'm with you, and my hyungs, and there's no pressure from work." He stated. "But the main thing is, my root's planted here, in Busan."

"I know." I said, walking up to back hug him. Instead, he motioned me to stand next to him, and pulled me into a one armed hug.

I looked out the hotel window, and oh boy, did it look good. From here, I could see the Haeundae Beach. The place where we spent most of today.

To take a break from work, and spend some time together, Jungkook had planned this three days long trip to Busan. All his hyungs, and Minji were with us, too. We had spent today, the first day of the trip, at the Haeundae Beach.

"Hey, Yerin?" He called me, and I felt his body tense a bit. I hummed in response.

"What would you do if someday, you woke up, and found out I wasn't there?"

My jaw clenched at his sudden weird question. "Why do you ask that?"

''No reason."

"I would search for you, of course." I said. "I would do anything to find you."

He looked at me and smiled. The next thing I knew — he had slammed his lips on to mine and nearly knocked all the wind away from my lungs.

I hardly had a moment to react before he pressed his tongue at the seam of my lips, and at my grant of access, delved into my mouth. His tongue playfully dominated mine, and all thoughts of stopping disappeared.

When we were out of breath and broke apart, as usual, a line of saliva connected us. "Why'd you stop?" I whispered breathlessly.

"Don't start something we can't finish, baby." His voice was husky.

"Actually," I smirked. "We can."

He brought his lips down to my neck, and sucked on a spot harshly. I tried to hold it in, knowing it was one of his tricks to make me say his name, but a sinful and betraying moan escaped my lips. I could feel his smirk against my skin.

Then all of a sudden, he pulled me up, causing me to wrap both my hands and legs around him tightly in an attempt of not falling down. He carried me to the bed, and I was sure of it.

This was going to be a long night.

-

I woke up the next morning, clearly missing the warmth, that I usually found radiating off his body to mine. I looked around, and he wasn't in the room, either. Maybe he had gone to have breakfast or to any of the others' rooms.

I got up from bed, and felt my lower body was still a bit sore from yesterday night. I went to the bathroom, and found out by looking at the mirror, that my neck was covered in purple marks. All of yesterday's events rushed to my mind, and my cheeks turned red.

It was amazing how he still managed to do that in a second just like four years ago.

I took a shower and got dressed. I wrapped a scarf around my neck to cover the marks, and headed downstairs for breakfast.

But surprisingly, none of them was there. I decided to call Jungkook, but found out that his phone was switched off. I asked the lady at the hotel reception if she had seen any of them going out, and she said she didn't notice. I felt my heart starting to beat faster.

Where is he?

I suddenly remembered his unusual question last night. Had he planned not to be there this morning when I woke up? I went back to the room, and called each and every one of them.

Their phones were either switched off, or they didn't answer. I waited for the sight of any of them, and searched the whole room for any kind of clue to their whereabouts at the same time.

I found a diary, one that I never saw with Jungkook. There were regular entries, for the past four years. There was an entry of our first date, and of many days spent together after that. Occasions, or parties that we attended or simply how he felt about me.

I flipped one page after another, occasionally smiling at the care he put into his writings, and sometimes blushing as I recalled the memories. I stopped at the last written page, it was an entry of yesterday night. It must've been written when I was asleep.

Dear Diary,

I finally asked Yerin the question that I was dying to ask.
She said she'd do anything to find me. I can't explain by words how I felt at that moment. If that happens, I hope she always remembers the days we spent together, and the things that are valuable to us and us only.

That way, she'll always be able to find me no matter where I am.

I was now sure that he had planned it all along because of the two unusual phrases: Days we spent together and things valuable to us and us only.

I decided to think about the second once, at first. Most of the things that were valuable to us must be in Seoul. What could be here in Busan?

Then I remembered the first phrase. And what he had said last night.

His root was in Busan.

What things did we share in Busan? Only one. Middle School.

I quickly took my handbag, and put my phone, some money, and his diary inside. Then, I called an Uber and got out of the hotel.

It was time to take a trip down the memory lane.
