Rishabh took a deep breath and thinking 'All or nothing', he sat next to her and in a daring attempt, pulled out her left earphone and plugged it into his right 'So, what are you listening to?'
..You're worse than nicotine.. played the music.
'Ah, Panic! at the disco. All time favorite' He grinned.
Tamanna was taken aback. He could read it all over her face. He was sure she was about to punch him in the face for interrupting her. But in another flash, he saw something else in her eyes. Disbelief. 'You know Panic! at the disco?' she looked questioning.
'Of course. Like I said all time favorite.'
'No way! Mine too.' Tamanna smiled widely surprised. This soar Rishabh's hopes high. Finally, they connected at an intimate level. Because music, to Rishabh, was always intimate.
'Who else do you listen to?' Tamanna asked inquisitively. Rishabh saw his opening and he would be damned to let it go. 'Well, I am someone who considers myself melomaniac. I like to collect records and have a shelf full of music albums.' , he said proudly.
'What? Like Harvey Specter?' Tamanna laughed? 'Yep. Just like him. Though I have not collected as much as him. Still a long way to go' Rishabh sighed.
'So you are a Suits fan too.' Tamanna stated. That wasn't a question. It was a conclusion and Rishabh could see she was contemplating something in her eyes. 'You are more than meets the eye' She said softly.
'You know, I would love to show you my record collection. That is, if you want to. I think you will like it.' Rishabh was hopeful she would say yes, but nevertheless, he wanted to make it clear that it was her choice.
'I would love to' Tamanna's answer threw Rishabh off the roof. 'So, how about this Friday, say, 4.30 after the lecture? ' Tamanna nodded. 'and maybe we can go out to eat after that' He slipped it in carefully, not to seem overly interested, but interested nonetheless.
'Sounds like a date' Tamanna smiled.
Right on cue, the bell rang and it was time for their next lecture.
Rishabh made a move to go to his place. Tamanna gestured him to stay and that was the first time that Rishabh thanked God that he got into Oswal's.
