Chapter VIII: Revelation
Bella's POV
"Sino!" Tracy blurted as she joined us inside.
"Tell me Grace, why did you killed Cherry?" Nakataas ang mga kilay ni Inspector Akinu kay Grace.
"What! I don't know what you're talking about? Sira ka ba? May deperensya, kaya nagagawa mong mambintang na lang nang basta-basta." Medyo tumaas ang boses n'ya nang banggitin ni Inspector ang kanyang pangalan.
I really thought it was Ditty, because she's the only one who has the motive to kill Cherry.
"Totoo ba?" naluluhang tanong ni Jess "Totoo ba!"
"What? Jess don't tell me you're believing him? Also, he has no evidence to point me responsible for the crime."
"Unfortunately for you Miss Grace, I do have an evidence." Muling napukol ang atensyon namin kay Inspector. "Lets start with your appearance, shall we? First, does anyone notice that her hair was still wet when she got here? How come you got your hair wet if you never went home, like you told us? "
"Naligo ako kina Dr. Jade since meron naman siyang shower doon. Hindi pa kasi ako nakakaligo simula nang mang-galing ako rito sa bahay ni Cherry, okay na? Judgemental ka kasi!"
"Lies, lies, lies," the inspector said dismissively. "Also here's the catch for you, do you know that Dr. Alcasid and I were close friends? And here's the thing, I asked him if he had an appointment with someone named Grace Madrigal a while ago on my phone. He said none, because he's on his vacation this week. "
The place was filled with murmured as the inspector revealed all of his evidence. Kaya pala nakangisi siyang nakatingin sa kanyang cellphone kanina habang pumapasok.
"I'm sorry I lied, okay! So what? Hindi pa rin iyon sapat na ebidensya para ituro na ako nga ang pumatay kay Cherry. If there's one person I know who could have done it, it's Ditty." Now she's blaming Ditty. Her character completely changed compared to the time when we were still interrogating them.
"Wait? Bakit ba ako na lang lagi ang tinuturo niyo? Kanina si Jess ngayon naman ikaw Grace? Mga kaibigan ko ba talaga kayo? Grace, kung nadidiin ka wag kang mandamay!" Susugod na sana si Ditty pero pinigilan siya ng mga pulis sa paligid.
"How pathetic you are to put the blame on others. You know, all of these would be over if you would just tell us the truth." The inspector inserted.
"Hindi. Nga. Ako. Ang. Gumawa! Hindi ko yan magagawa sa kaibigan ko!"
"Then tell us. Saan ka ba talaga pumunta pagkatapos mong umalis dito? At wag mong sasabihin sa amin na may appointment ka na naman 'uli because we are all over with that. "
"S-sa bahay, diretso akong umuwi."
"If that's so why did you lied to us?"
"B-be-cause..."
Medyo natigil si Grace dahil sa tanong niya.
"Seems like you don't have any reason to lie to us only of course, if you're the one who killed her and that's why you need to lie, am I right? "
"No its not true! Hindi ako ang pumatay sa kanya!"
"Can I see your shoes?" Saglit naman nagtaka si Grace sa sinabi ni Inspector Akinu pero ginawa niya naman ito.
"Mostly shoes has spikes at the buttom, right? And if we compare these to the ones we found at the back door, I am sure this shoe mark will match. We can also try to trace any finger prints on the victim if you want?"
