" Kyra where are you? You should be up already you're late for school."
Kyra's mom calls.
" Coming. "
I yell, getting up from looking at my reflection in the mirror above my bed. Even though I'm only pretending to be the average teen and wake up late. I spent most of my night studying teenage behaviour since it's my first time taking the human form and its already been seventeen years of my life as a human. And I have learnt everything about most emotions, except for one emotion
Love.
Kyra's mother loves her, but that isn't the kind of love I'm talking about. I talking about the kind I have read about in thousands of books. I yet to see it or understand it. So far I only have theories on how love is and so far the only word I could come up with is,
Selfless.
I have read about humans doing selfless things because of love, things like giving up their life to save the person they love but I'm yet to see it or experience it myself. Leaving my thoughts for later I showered, got dressed and went downstairs. Kyra's mom already made breakfast so all I had to do was stuff my face. I still couldn't get enough of human its a miracle I'm not fat.
" Good morning Mom, Dad, Matt."
I say with a smile.
" God morning sunflower"
Kyra's Dad says.
I sit and join them and ate every time I did it was a new experience I am still not accustomed to human food or the emotions that came with this body. Whenever Kyra Dad addressed her as sunflower I felt happy, a common emotion for humans. Eating was also a part of keeping this body healthy which made me choose the lifestyle of a vegan. I ate fruits for breakfast, rather than bacon and eggs like the rest of Kyra's family.
" Hurry up and eat your fruit salad Kyra the bus will be here soon. "
Kyra's Mom says, reminding me that I still have school, going to school wasn't something I enjoy. I did have what most human species my age has
Friends.
I am a total loner. I stayed away from making friends as to not corrupt my analyst on human behaviour and emotions.
****
The bus came and I sat in my usual seat. I said nothing to no one and found solace with my iPod. I love music, but mostly by Brett Young and Luke Combs. They just have a way with getting you to feel something when they sing.
Gifted.
That's what I call them I could listen to them for hours on end.
