At the County Fair, Wyatt proposed betting all of the ranch's earnings from the fair on him in the rodeo.
"I'm telling you, I can do this and we'll walk out of here with the exact amount of money we need."
"And what if you lose? We won't have nothing to walk away with, it's just too risky."
"Wyatt, you totally got this!"
Wyatt grinned and glanced away as he felt a little flushed.
"Thanks, Amelia."
"This is crazy. Dad will never approve of this."
"Well, it's good that he won't be here until later. Come on, Amelia."
The two of them left a baffled Luke behind as Wyatt led them to the parking lot.
"My gear is stashed in the back of the truck. We'll swing by and get it out of the truck so I can drop it off at the arena when we place the bet."
"Do you always keep your gear in the back of your truck?"
"Only when I'm hopin' to ride."
Wyatt grabbed his saddle from the truck as the both of them walked back to the rodeo arena where Wyatt signed up to ride in the competition.
"And now...
He walked over to the betting window and signed all of the prize money, betting on himself to win.
"When we come back, it will be enough to pick up $12,000!"
Just then, Wyatt and Amelia heard a obnoxious laugh from behind them.
"Come to place a bet, Wyatt? Hope you like losing money just as losing trophies."
"What are you doing here, Rick?"
"To answer that, I'm here to put down a bet on myself and I also heard that a cute girl would be here."
Rick winked at Amelia and she grimaced.
"Rick, do that again and I'll make sure you'll lose an eye."
"I like my woman how my horses are... feisty."
"Gross."
"She's not your woman so seriously, Rick, back off."
"You two don't know how to take a joke but I guess a soon to be loser never do and since I've been training for this all year, I've never been in better shape which is why there ain't a horse here that I haven't done eight seconds on before which you chose a terrible day to consider your mind about riding."
"Rick, your little mind strategy is not going to work on me."
"Suit yourself but just know I'm gonna enjoy every part of you losing."
Rick turned as he walked away from the two of them.
"I don't think I hated that guy more than anything else."
"Wyatt, don't let him get to you."
"Easier said than done but he knows definitely how to find ways to get under my skin."
"Just imagine him falling off and landing into some horse crap and screaming like a little girl."
Wyatt looked up at Amelia surprisingly and started laughing.
"That actually helps a lot, thanks."
Wyatt took a deep breath.
"I need to clear my before the rodeo but I'll see you later."
