It was a cold night. The moon shone in the sky like a flashlight while the rain hit the ground like soft bullets. It was a night like this when the gang had to be on alert. Yes, yes the streets of New Meridian could not be trusted. Most Dagonians learned that the hard way but not the Fishbone. No, the Fishbone Gang were still alive because they were smart. They knew who and who not to associate with. What and what not to say. They knew how to not get killed. Three of the members, Lars, Sebastian, and Neel, were out lurking through the shadows. Lars was a nice blue color with large fins on his head and arms. Sebastian was a gray, burly Dagonian with a bandana and spikes on his chin that resembled a beard while Neel was a lanky, eel-like Dagonian who wore an ecru apron and wielded a harpoon. They were walking down the street, about to head to a warehouse to address some important business, when they heard a sound come out from an alley. Neel reached for his harpoon but Lars simply started to go inside the alley. After a minute or two he came out holding a little baby. It had two feline ears, curly hair, which was an off-white color, and a short Lil' tail. Even though nothing could really phase the Fishbone Gang, they were quite surprised by this.

"Someone just...left it there?" Neel asked. "I guess so," Lars said looking at the child, compassion shining in his deep green eyes. Sebastian didn't say anything on account that nothing like this had ever happened before. After about two minutes of staring at the child, Lars turned around and started to head back. "What are you doing?" Neel hissed, shocked by Lars' actions. "What? Do you expect me to just leave it there?" Lars asked, as if Neel's question was stupid. "B-but what about Lorenzo?" Sebastian asked at last. "He can wait," Lars replied softly, looking into the little kitten's eyes as he turned back around and continue to walk. Neel just stood there glaring at Lars, his gills flaring with irritation.

At times, Neel hated Lars. Lars could be strong and fearless sometimes and soft and sweet the next. This is also why he admired him so much.

Sebastian looked at Lars a bit and then started to come with him. Neel let out an irritated sigh and began to tag along as well.
