Chapter thirty one

Alex's pov

"I have to go to work.." Shawn says

"We'll drop you off." I said grabbing our daughters hand and helping her off the seat.

"No I'll take the metro don't worry about it." He says kissing my forehead

"At least let us drop you off." I said and he agrees.

We get to the metro and wait for him

"There's the train, I'll see you guys when I get home. I love you."

"I love you too." I said and he pecked my lips

He started walking off and I saw three guys in black hoodies

"Shawn..." I said

"Shawn!" I called out and I see them pull out a knife

"Shawn! Shawn! Shawn!!!" I screamed

I wake up and sit up breathing heavily.

"Alex? Are you okay? What's wrong?" Brie said getting up and sitting next to me. She tried to touch me and I moved away from her. She put her hands up in defense.

"I'm going to go get shawn." She said and before I could reply she left the room.

Shawn's pov

I hear banging on my door and we all groan and get up.

"I got it." Matt says and opens the door

"Babe? What are you doing here?"

"Move." I hear uh oh. It's Brie. I don't need her loud self at four in the morning.

"Shawn, come with me." She said grabbing my hand and I yanked it back.

"Why? It's four in the morning! What could possibly be going on?" I said rubbing my eyes and stretching

"It's Alex. She was talking in her sleep and then out of nowhere she woke up and started breathing heavy. I don't know what's going on." She said and my heart dropped knowing she had a nightmare.

"I don't care." I said climbing back into bed. Shawn what are you doing? Get up! Go comfort her! She needs it! Her dad's not here, you're the closest thing to home for her!

"Shawn, you guys fought! I get it! But come on, don't be a dick! Man up and go to her! She's crying!" Brie said and the guys side with her and start to tell me to go to her.

"No! I'm not going!" I raise my voice and they shut up. I really want to but I don't know why my mouth and body won't cooperate with me.

"Wow, I know that we've had our differences and I only put up with you cause of Alex and Matt. But now.." she scoffs "you're a dick. I don't blame Alex for kissing sky and Mason. I don't know how she fell in love with you." She snapped and left the room. I covered my head with the blanket and I closed my eyes. I felt tears escape from my eyes. God I feel weak for crying.

Alex's pov

"W-Where's Shawn?" I said and she closed the door and turns back around at me.

"He's not coming.." she said softly and I felt tears escape from my eyes. I quickly wipe them away and she sits next to me and rubs my back. It's not the same as Shawn or my dad but at least it's something.

"Do you want to talk about your dream?" She asked and I shook my head no.

"I'm fine now. I promise." I smiled to make the lie more believable. She nods and climbs back into bed. I got up and put on a hoodie and adidas sweatpants and call Mason to come get me.
