This. Is. Absolutly. Amazing!!! It's onlybeen a few minutes since Leafcatcher had arrived, and she already loved it.

She and Deathbringer, her father, were perched on a stone spire, not far from the main entrance, waiting for the opportunity of a dramatic entrance.

That's what he'd told her the moment they were out of Glory's earshot, soaring away from the Rainforest. The first impression is the most important. A dramatic entrance will impress the other students and they'll respect you. And you'll look like a badass, which is good.

Leaf fidgeted. She was tired of waiting. "When are we getting down, by all the knifes?", she exclaimed. By all the knifes was her favourite swear, the first thing her father'd taught her to say.

"Okay, okay, forget what I said about the entrance, let's go!" he gave up, because everyone in the Rainforest had learned that it was no use to argue with her. They would never win.

"C'mon, Leaf, follow me", she caught an air current and spiraled down to the bigger rock ledge, the entrance to Jade Mountain Academia.

As soon as she landed, a golden dragon ran towards her. Sunny!

The little SandWing was her godmother, but Leaf didn't saw her often, since she was either in Possibility  or at Jade Mountain.

"Leaf! Deathbringer! Oh my moons, you've grown so much since I last saw you!"

It was true. Last time Sunny had visited the Rainforest, Leaf was three years old. Now, she was five, and as big as Sunny already.

"So, Deathbringer, how's Glory?", she let go of Leaf and walked up to the NightWing.

"She's doing great. She couldn't come today because Queen Moorhen sent a delegation, and she had, well, queen duties as she calls them"

"Oh, okay then. Leaf, you can say goodbye to your father and get inside. Fatespeaker will tell you everything you need to know. I have to go, the Seawings are here!"

Leaf spotted three blue-green silhouettes landing on the plateform.

"Goodbye, Leafcatcher! Have a nice time, try to make friends, and don't get yourself killed, okay?", her father sounded worried.

"Easy!", she answered gingerly. The new school looked way too cool to be dangerous, and Deathbringer had trained her, so she knew how to fight if necessary.

"Here, I have something for you", he put something wrapped in a banana tree leaf in her talons. "Open it in your cave, okay? It's a present, and I think it'll be quite useful", he winked at her.

"Cool! Thanks dad!", she ran inside before he could add anything else.

Few! I escaped crazy I-don't-want-you-to-leave-me dragon. What do I do next? Oh, right! Sunny told me Fatespeaker would help me. But she didn't told me who is Fatespeaker.

On the other side of the hall, a black dragon with silverscales on the outside corner of her eyes, and more under her wings was sitting behind a wooden desk covered with papers.

"Hi! I'm Fatespeaker!", she yelled.

Leaf walked up to her, if it meant she'd stop shouting across the hall. "Hi, my name is-", the NightWing cut her off.

"Shush! Don't tell me! I can see it with my POWERS!", she whispered/yelled.

Leaf doubted it. Except for Moonwatcher, there were not any NightWing seers now. She raised one eyebrow, smirking.

"Ooohooo! This, is a signature Deathbringer smirk. I've been told his daughter would assist our classes this year. Which means you are... Darkwings!"

"No, I'm not. Try again!", Leaf rolled her eyes.

Fatespeaker looked at her list for a second. "Guava!"

"Nope!"

"Sharptalons!"

"He's a boy!"

"Canyoutellmeyournameplease?", she mumbled.

"I'm Leafcatcher, but you can call me Leaf", she held out one talon and Fatespeaker shook it.

"Here's your map! Your cave is the third on the left!"

"Thanks!", Leaf headed in the direction she was told.

"One, two, three, there we are!", she stepped into the cave.

Leafcatcher immediatly spotted the hammock and its colorful feathers. She proceeded to unpack her bag -a bracelet, her note-scroll, her pencils and a black cape- and settled down in her hammock to open Deathbringer's gift.

She ripped the leafs away and a black leather pouch fell on her knees. She opened it. Three silver chakrams were in it.

She took out one an examinated it. It was beautiful, shiny and clean and super sharp. That's the best gift ever! Leaf tied the pouch around her neck.

Tap tap tap. Talonsteps echoed in the hallway, and the most glittery dragon Leaf had ever seen walked in the cave.

She was a tall and angular dragon with pale-silver scales. Her pale blue eyes looked as deep a the ocean, and she wore a chain around her neck with five circles on it.

"Hi!", Leaf greeted her. A new friend, She would not gonna be alone in that cave.

"Hum, h-hi", the IceWing -because it clearly was a pure-blood IceWing- replied shyly.

"D-d-do you mind if I t-take the i-ice bed?", she asked.

"Nah, the hammock is mine and I think the mud puddle over there is for a MudWing. Go ahead, take the ice bed"

"Okay, thanks"

"What's your name?"

"M-m-me? I'm Cloud"

"Ooooh! Cool name! I'm Leafcatcher, but you can call me Leaf!"

"You're nice- uh, I mean, your name's nice too, yeah, totally what I meant, sorry"

Another dragonet stepped in the cave. "Oh, hi! What's your name?", Leaf asked.

"Hi!", the little MudWing smiled. "I'm Mist, nice to meet you!"

"My name's Leafcatcher, and this is Cloud", she poked the IceWing so she'd react, because she was just standing there, a slight blush creeping on her cheeks, her mouth wide open, staring at Mist.

Oh oh! I already have my first ship!, Leaf smirked. She'd have to write it in her note-scroll.
