THE PETROVA HYBROD COULDN'T HELP BUT shake her head at how idiotic the decision she made was. She was standing in Derek Hale's loft, the same place she had been several times but never had she felt this feeling like... the feeling that everyone she cared about had died.

"We know about the lunar eclipse. So don't think Kali is going to be sitting around waiting for it to level the playing field, she's coming. And my brother's coming with her because they both believe Maddie is still back in Mystic Falls." Ethan explained and Peter shrugged.

"Good enough for me. Derek?" Peter asked, turning to his nephew who looked away. "You want me to run?" Derek questioned, his gaze on the floor.

"No, no, I want you to stay and get slaughtered by an alpha with a psychotic foot fetish– of course I want you to run. Sprint, gallop, leap your way the hell out of this town." Peter said sarcastically and Maddie scoffed.

"If you wanna fight and die for something, that's fine with me. But do it for something meaningful." Cora agreed with Peter and Maddie nodded.

"You don't wanna die because of some bitch's wack-ass toenails. That would be the worse story to go out with." Maddie commented earning her glares and scoffs.

"How do you know I'm going to lose?" Derek asked cockily and Maddie raised an eyebrow. "Majority of the people in this room care about you. You really think we're going to take that chance?" Maddie retorted, crossing her arms over her chest.

"And we don't know. But I bet they have an idea. Don't you?" Peter states motioning to Maddie and Lydia. The strawberry blonde gulped as the brunette went wide eyed

"I don't know anything." Lydia said as Maddie looked down. "But you feel something. I know Maddie does or she wouldn't be looking at the floor." Peter pointed out and Lydia gulped.

"What do you both feel?" Derek questioned and Maddie looked to Lydia who looked at the ground. "I feel like... I'm standing in a graveyard." Lydia admitted and everyone looked to Maddie.

"And you?" Peter asked and Maddie sighed. "I feel I was mourning everyone in this room. From the second I walked through the door it was just...the feeling of loss." Maddie admitted and Derek sighed.

The blaring alarm went off, signalling an intruder but the group had already seen it coming. Kali kicked it off its place with a pissed off expression.

"Where is he?" The Alpha female questioned and Lydia snapped her fingers as Maddie watched from where she hid on the staircase.

"I think he said he was heading out to do some shopping. Run a few errands, the usual...werewolf afternoon." Lydia lied and Maddie almost laughed.

"Who do you think you're talking to?" Kali questioned and Lydia looked down at the woman's feet before crossing her arms.

"Someone in desperate need of a pedicure. I'd be happy to give you a referral." The strawberry blonde sassed making Kali walk closer. Aiden growled making Kali turn around and glare at him.
