I could vividly remember, eight years ago, Mrs. Nneoma  Peters,my mother said to me"Adanne, do not let guys play with your feelings, be sharp o,I'll teach you a lot ,you need to learn from me."
This was really funny because this was coming from a woman who has married three men since my father Mr. Emeka Peters died. I laughed inside but I replied with "OK, ma ."
Growing up in the eastern part of Nigeria wasn't really easy ,it was really tiresome for me because my dad lived in Aba,Abia state of Nigeria, when he died and my mother remarried ,her second husband Mr. Victor Eze lived in Anambra  ,the third man ,Mr. Siro Adaje, a Yoruba man who lived in Ebonyi state, the fourth and current man Mr. Edward Okoronkwo lived Enugu state.
I would call myself an explorer because I have traveled to almost all the eastern states in the country because my "dads" lived in different states. I attended many schools across the country and I would say I'm the girl with the most friends in Nigeria.
I was seven when my mother told me all these ,it sounded like a joke to me ,till I made into secondary school ,I was eleven when I entered Aladumo Highschool ,Enugu .I met a lot of people ,highschool didn't feel like primary school ,I met a lot of guys who showed "interest", like what's up? I was just in jss 1,guys came closer to ,students from higher classes came to me ,I got really scared because Joy my " bunkee" had called me a hot cake, she said I was hot and all the guys wanted me.This boarding school life was getting into my head ,I should tell my mother ,I thought. No, it was really cool to an extent.
John ,the soccer team captain came to me that faithful day at the water fountain near the school field. He said to me "Hey ,I'm John ,I'm in SS2 ,I'm the school captain ,you're in SS1 ba?
" SS1!! No biko I'm still a fresher ,I'm in jss 1." I said
"Jss 1? And you have this kind of protruding breast ,wow that's good."
I was really irritated when he said that but I felt a little bit good inside, at least he confronted me."
He said we would talk later ,he said he would love to be in a relationship with me. The words of my mother that day replayed in my head ,why should I listen to her ,she has married four husbands .
I couldn't wait to tell Joy.
