As the sun began to rise over the horizon, Damon took Vicki and I back to his place. Damon was on the phone earlier, with a guy named Stefan, talking about a ring. Some magical ring.

"Don't get blood on the couch" Damon groaned walking over to Vicki. "Please." He removed the towel from Vicki's neck, and looked at the bite mark. "Well you won't be much fun today. Luckily, there's someone else" he glanced my way.

"Don't look at me" I put my hands up, sitting opposite of them. "I'm not just going to pretend like everything is normal."

Damon's eyes drifted back to Vicki. "I'm going to regret this" he groaned before biting into his own wrist. He placed his wrist against Vicki's mouth, forcing her to drink his blood. She scrunched her face up in disgust, but drank the blood. "Let's have some fun."

Vicki was dancing in a tank top and her underwear, sipping an alcohol bottle. She passed it over to Damon, who had jeans and his buttons on his shirt undone. Damon jumped up on the stair railing, and I stared in awe. As I watched Damon, Vicki came up from behind me, spilling bourbon all over my clothes.

"What the hell!" I exclaimed, standing up from the couch.

"Clean clothes upstairs" Damon spoke jumping down from the railing, continuing with the small party. I grumbled in annoyance, before trudging upstairs. I found myself in a room with black silky sheets and I walked over to the dresser. All the shirts were either black, or dark blue and I realized this room was Damon's. I decided on a dark blue t-shirt, and a pair of sweatpants that was shoved into the back of the drawer. Throwing my hair into a messy bun, I made my back downstairs to Vicki and Damon.

"Do you want to know what could make it all better?" Damon spoke softly as he slow danced with Vicki.

"What?" Vicki's voice broke as she answered.

"Death" Damon's voice remained even, as he snapped Vicki's neck. I gasped as Vicki's body dropped to the ground. His head snapped toward me as if he didn't realize I was there. He suddenly appeared in front of me, and I jumped away from him. He softly grabbed my face and spoke "she'll wake up."

"W-what do you mean? You just killed her!" I couldn't take my eyes away from the body slumped on the ground.

"She will be in transition" Damon explained. "To be a vampire."

"How does becoming a vampire work?" I asked curiously. Damon let go of my face, and turned his back to me.

"First, you drink vampire blood, then you die. When you wake up, you drink human blood. It's a whole ordeal."

"And if she don't drink human blood?" I asked.

"Then she dies. For good."

Vicki had woken up, and gathered her stuff. I was amazed at the fact she was dead only 3 minutes ago. Vicki was walking out of the house when Damon sped over to me using his vampire speed.

"Follow her" he compelled. "Everywhere she goes." The farther she got, I had suddenly felt a strong need to follow her. So I did. I had followed her to a white house, and I sat outside it as it quickly grew dark. She suddenly came running out of the house, and I followed her to the cemetery. The sun had set already, once we got there.

"Vicki?" I called, stepping out of the tree line.

"I'm sorry I spilled alcohol on you" she cried guiltily.

"It's fine" I spoke, shaking my head.

"No it's not" she cried.

"No, really. I'm fine. See" I held my arms out to show her.

"Vicki?" I heard a man's voice behind me. I turned to see a blonde come out of the trees, slowly approaching us.

"I remember everything" Vicki muttered. "Who he is. What he is."

"Who are you?" The man realized I was there. Before I could answer, a gunshot rang out and a bullet plunged into the man's chest.

"No!" Vicki yelled as I shrieked. The blonde fell onto his back, and before I could do anything, the guy who shot the gun turned it to me. He pulled the trigger, and as he did, Damon moved the shooters arm, making the bullet graze my arm. I hissed in pain, instantly nursing my arm. Damon bit into the shooter's neck, and in seconds he dropped to the ground. Damon went over to the blonde man, digging his fingers into the bullet wound. He pulled the bullet out, showing what the bullet was made out of.

"No one is killing you except me, little brother" Damon held his out hand. His brother rolled his eyes, handing Damon a ring. So this must be Stefan...

"Vicki?" I gasped, seeing her drink the blood coming from the gunman's throat.

"Vicki, no!" Stefan yelled, and Vicki's head snapped up.

"I'm so sorry" she apologized, blood around her mouth, and on her hands. She stood up and looked between us like she was a deer caught in headlights. She took off running, and the pull willed me to follow her again. I began running, and ignored when Stefan told me to stop.

"Don't follow me" Vicki cried.

"I don't really have a choice" I replied. She stopped quickly, causing me to run into her.

"You're bleeding" she spoke in a daze, the veins under her eyes appearing.

"Vicki, don't" I begged, backing away.

"I-I'm sorry" she stuttered, grabbing me and pulled me close. Her new fangs peirced the skin of my throat. I let out a scream of pain and fear.

"No!" I heard someone roar behind me. Suddenly Vicki was ripped away, and I stumbled away and into someone. In front of me, I watched Damon snap Vicki's neck. Stefan steadied me, but I felt him go rigid behind me. Damon turned toward me, and I slightly held my neck. "Stefan, don't" Damon warned, eyeing gis brother. I pushed out of Stefan's grasp, and turned to face him. Stefan's vampire face began disappearing, and I felt Damon grab my wrist to bring me closer to him.

"What are you doing?" I asked in a shaky voice.

"Giving you my blood" he replied, bringing his wrist to his mouth.

"No!" I backed away. "I'm not becoming a vampire!"

He paused, and tried to speak "I-"

"No, I can't. I-"

"Let me heal you" Damon snapped.

"Promise me. Promise you won't turn me into a vampire" I begged, looking up at him.

Damon narrowed his eyes, and I felt myself slowly lose unconcious. Damon must've noticed, because he gave in. "Fine. Fine! I won't turn you." I swallowed thickly, before I nodded. "Drink" he demanded, shoving his wrist against my mouth. I drank his blood, feeling my wounds heal abnormally quick. Damon pulled his wrist away, and sighed. "You will stay with me for 24 hours" Damon demanded.

"What? Why?" I asked, wiping the blood from my mouth.

"If you end up dying in the next 24 hours, you will become a vampire" Damon spoke.

I narrowed my eyes. He said it like I didn't have a choice to finish the transition. Like he would make the decision for me. "I'll stay with you."
