Once Upon A Time, Far Away In Unknown Lands And Uncharted Territories Stood A Kingdom. The Kingdom Itself, Though As Vast And Large As It Was, Was Disturbingly Corrupt. Everything About It Could Be Considered Corrupt, From The King To The Peasants, Most People Did Not Particularly Enjoy Living In The Kingdom, Yet They Were Not To Leave. So All Who Lived In It Fell Under A Depression From Everything. One Of The Most Corrupt, However, Was Not A King, Or Anyone Of Royalty. It Was A Knight. The Name Of This Knight Was Franz, A Feared And Powerful Individual. He Would Go To Towns Of Innocent People And Slaughter The Entire Town, Leaving But A Ghost Of The Towns Former Self. He Slaughtered Many, Men, Women, And Children Alike. To Franz, No One Was Above Him. Not Even The King, Nor Did He Listen To The King. While Franz Did Not Listen To Anyone, No One Knew Exactly How To Deal With Him. They Knew He Could Easily Be Kill Anyone Who Even Dared To Mention Anything About Getting Rid Of Him. But Soon, Little Had Franz Known, His Entire Perspective Was Going To Change.
Franz, Who Has Been Riding His Horse Through The Woods To A New Target Town. He Slowed His Speed When He Saw The End Of The Tree-Line Rapidly Approaching. After Dismounting His Horse, Franz Had Seen The Town. It Was A Quaint, Quiet Little Place. Not Housing Very Many People, Or Houses, Franz Figured This Was Going To Be An Easy Town. While Peering At The Town, Scouting Out Different Stores And People Walking The Streets, He Realized Someone Was Staring At Him. Not Really Thinking About Any Of His Actions At The Moment, Franz Hid Behind A Tree And Waits. He Figured The Person Would Come To Him, And He Could Finish Them Off From There. The Person Did Come To Him, As he Had Thought, Yet He Didn't Understand Why He Didn't Take The Immediate Chance To Strike And Finish Off The First Of Many To Die In This Town. He Had Never Before Paused Like He Had Now, Maybe He Was Getting Ill, And Instead, He Decided To Observe The Person For A Few Moments. The First Thing He Noticed Was The Significant Size Difference Between The Two. The Stranger Who Had Come Up To Him Was Considerably Much Smaller Than Franz. The Stranger Nervously Looked Up At Franz. Franz Still Wasn't Quite Sure Why He Hadn't Attacked Yet, And He Know Realized He Was Probably Thinking About It Too Much.
"Hello...?" The Stranger Had Quietly Asked, Almost Muttering.
"Hello~" Franz Had Replied, His Voice Still Smooth But Cold As It Had Always Been,
"Uhm... What Brings You Here...?" The Stranger Mumbled, Quickly Turning His Attention Towards The Ground.
"Oh, Nothing Much, Just Thought I'd Stop By This Town~" Franz Hesitantly Said, Carefully Choosing His Words.
"Oh Uhm... Okay... What's Your Name?" The Stranger Asked.
Franz Was Hesitant To Answer. If This Town Already Knew Who Franz Was, Most Of His Plans Would Likely Be Ruined, And He Would Lose The Stealth Of Taking Everyone Out That He Had Hoped For. However, He'd Taken Risks Before, This One Truly Shouldn't Have Much Effect on Him, It Was Just A Small Town.
"Franz, And You?" He Questioned.
"Lamp." The Stranger, Who Apparently Had A Very Strange Name, Replied.
Franz Was Silent For A Moment.
"Lamp..?" Franz Said, Confused, Why Would Someone Name Their Kid Lamp?
"Yeah....?" Lamp Slowly Replied.
Franz Finally Decided That Someone Having The Name 'Lamp' Is Weird, But He Guessed It Totally Makes Sense For A Moth To Be Named Lamp.
"I Uh... I'm Just Going to Go...." Lamp Muttered, Slowly Walking Away And Going Back To The Town.
"Well Then..." Franz Said To Himself After Lamp Left, "I Can Tell This Is Definitely Going To Be Fun~!"
After A Few More Minutes Of Planning And Slightly Talking To Himself, Franz Walked Out From Behind The Tree And Started Walking Into The Town. Upon Arriving Officially, Franz Saw Three Amigos Ants Heading Towards Him. He Stopped And Waited For Them.
"Are You New Around Here?" The Tallest One Asked.
"Yeah~" Franz Replied.
"Well, Do You Mind Telling Us Why You're Here?" He Demanded.
"Oh, Just Stopping By~! Little Towns Like This Tend To Be Fun~!" Franz Answered, Smiling With One Of The Biggest Fake Smiles He'd Ever Done.
"Well, This Town Really Isn't As Fun As You Think It Is." The Ant Explained.
"Not Yet" Franz Muttered.
"...Yet? What Do You Mean?" The Ant Inquired.
But Franz Did Not Answer, He Simply Smiled Wider And Laughed Lightly, Strolling Past The Three. Successfully Earning Suspicion From Them. After Going Past Them, Franz Went To The Place He Figured Would Be Easiest To Lure People Away And Kill Them When They Didn't Suspect It.
The Tavern.
Upon Casually Strolling Inside, Not Trying To Attract Much Attention To Himself Yet, Franz Looked Around. He Saw Plenty Of People There, Even Children So That Was Weird, The First Person He Really Noticed Though, Was Lamp. He Had Decided That Was Who He Was Going To Attempt To Take Out First, As He Missed His Chance Before In The Woods. He Also Noticed Lamp Was Sitting Alone, Looking A Little Down And Staring At The Table He Was Sitting At. For A Moment, A Very, Very, Brief Moment, Franz Felt A Little Sorry For Him. He Quickly Brushed It Off And Wondered Why This Town Seemed So Different Then All The Others, It Didn't Appear Any Different, So Why Was Acting So Different Here? Why Did He Feel Sorry For Lamp? He Had Never Felt Sorry For Anything Before, So Why Now?
Franz Decided He Was Spending Too Much Time Thinking About It, And Strolled Up To Lamp's Table, He Sat Down.
"Hey~" Franz Greeted, As He Sat Down.
Lamp Looked Up At Franz A Little Surprised, Sure, He Came Here To Attempt To Meet Someone, But He Never Actually Thought Someone Would Talk To Him.
"O-Oh- Hi!" Lamp Said, Still Surprised, "What's Um... What's Up?"
"Oh, Nothing Much," Franz Started, "Just Came Over Here, You Were Looking A Little Down."
And Again, He Felt A Twinge Of Guilt, He Hated It Really. He Wasn't Used To Feeling Sorry For Things, And Feeling Guilty About Things, For He Still Had Never Experienced These Things Before, Why In The World Was This Town Having Such A Strange Effect On Him?
"Oh... Yeah.... I Just, Uhm, Came Here To Meet People... So Far You're The Only Person I've Talked To...." Lamp Mumbled.
The More Lamp Talked, The More Sad He Sounded With Every Word. Franz Hated It. He Felt So Guilty And He Hadn't Done Anything Yet, He Was Convinced That He Should Just Get Up Now And Leave, Before Something Else Happens And He Feels Something Else. Franz Never Actually Really Felt Much, He Tended To Fake It. The Sudden Rush Of Emotions That He Was Getting From Simply Entering This Town Was A Little Overwhelming.
"Well, Sometimes The Tavern Isn't The Best Place To Try And Meet People. It Really Depends On What Your Goal Is With The New People You're Trying To Meet, In My Case, The Tavern Is Actually A Great Place. For You, Honestly Though, I Feel Like If You Wanted To Meet Someone Possibly A Little Similar To You, You Should Probably Not Try To Meet People In A Place Where Everyone's Usually Drunk." Franz Explained.
Lamp Thought For A Moment, Maybe Franz Was Right, Maybe He Wasn't, Honestly He Wasn't Feeling Up To Trying To Find Out.
"So.... You're New To The Town.... Right?" Lamp Asked After A Moment.
"Yep~!" Franz Replied.
"I Can... Show You Around The Town...? ....Maybe...?" Lamp Hesitantly Inquired.
"Oh, Well It'd Be Nice Of You To Show Me~!" Franz Said.
"Well, Let's Go Then! ...I Guess..." Lamp Stood Up, And Started Walking Out Of The Tavern. Franz Followed.
