Dimension Break

The Other(Chapter 1)

Alternate dimensions are an intriguing facet of science, as we in our dimension have not yet proved their existence. However, in other dimensions, they have been proved which takes us to the catalyst of our story. Dimension 101 exists parallel to our own with the major difference being the progress of technology along with minor changes in geography.

                                                                           Union City High School

                                                                                 Secret Lab -  5:30pm

      We begin this tale in Union City South Carolina, with a group of friends, Cameron, Andrew, and Latavia. They are working on a portal in their lab which would allow them to travel to other dimensions using the research of a scientist who proved their existence as a basis for their portal. " Alright, test number twenty-five here we go," Cameron said signaling Andrew  to flip the switch which sent a surge of electricity through a web of wires leading to the surprisingly well-made portal, the design of which was mostly thought of by Latavia who looked over the plans in the research and used parts from it that were easily available and substituted the other parts of her own design. The surge made contact with the device and the three looked in disappointment as yet another test failed. " Well back to the drawing board," Andrew said as if he was used to this phrase " No, we can't just reset the progress we've made," said Cameron "Well Cam isn't wrong in that department but this is the twenty-fifth time this has happened and we've adjusted the formula just as much" Latavia said with a touch of sadness in her voice. Cameron then went back to the research and examined it with such ferocity " Dang it, I can't make heads or tails of the formula he used here" he said tossing the paper to Latavia  " Well maybe we should try to multiply using tens" she says looking at Andrew who was planted in his smartphone " Huh, oh sorry guys my mom texted me about dinner tonight and then I saw this amazing post about the-" but before he could finish his sentence a force of energy enveloped the portal and when it subsided a person stepped out of said force  and looked at a device on his wrist "Dang it, missed my mark by two whole dimensions  I'll have to punish Andrew for that later" the whole group observed the person in disbelief as the person in question was Cameron. " This can't be happening, did we do it?" Latavia asked then the other Cameron took a look around the room and smirked as he responded " No, this was my doing or rather my Andrew's doing" he then looks at Andrew and inspects him " Interesting you're taller than my Andrew only by a bit, and your clothes are drastically different" the other Cameron notices Andrew's black coat with its white outline near the zipper and the dark jeans he was wearing " Nice touch with the grey shoes" the other Cameron says snapping and pointing in Andrew's direction "Thanks I guess" Andrew says in awe. " Now onto Latavia," the other Cameron says pointing and grinning " Your style hasn't changed much," he says referring to her almost goth look with a black top with fishnet sleeves and similar black skirt " The only difference is you're less dead," the other Cameron says with a suspicious chuckle. This causes the main Cameron to press a button causing the support wires in the lab to restrain the other Cameron " Explain what you meant now !," Cameron said yelling at his other self " Well fine I don't have anything better to do" the other says  " It all started in sixth grade, during my no our first fight assuming you had this fight as well, anyway long story short I lost and no one let me live it down and I was constantly teased about it" the other looks at the real Cameron almost as if he was begging for a response " Yes, I had a fight in the sixth grade too, I won" the real Cameron said causing the other to retort with anger " OF COURSE YOU DID" " Let me guess you won the second fight too didn't you" the other asked " If you are referring to the fight I had in eighth grade then yeah, well I didn't lose but it was a tie" Cameron said  " Well I lost that one too" the other said " Afterwards I went into hiding and trained and learned alot about many things and even recrutied those who still believed in me, we struck during what would have been nineth grade year and qucikly took over the highschool nobody matched my stregnth " then he looks at Latavia and smiles " That's when she started the rebellion and prooved to be a good challenge but eventually she fell along with her little rebellion, now she along with my original failures hang on my wall as trophies" the other stares with a smirk on his face causing Cameron to smack him across the face " Come on, I didn't think you'd throw the first punch" the other said laughing " Shut up" Cameron yelled pushing another button sealing the other's mouth "What do we do?," Cameron asked his friends " Well we can't leave him here" Andrew said " He might break out and cause damage to the lab" Andrew continued " Well we can't turn him into the police for identity theft" Cameron said " After all he is me" The three pondered for thirty minutes when Cameron said " You two go I'll lock up and secure the wires before I leave" Cameron said " What !? " Latavia asked " Don't worry if he happens to escape I'll take responsibility for his actions and hell I'll kill him if I have to " Cameron said with the most serious look on his face " I can't risk him killing you two even if Andrew is apparently helping him in whatever dimension he's from" Cameron hugged his friends and rushed them out of the lab as he prepared the other's captivity.
