Chapter 2

Naalimpungatan ako ng walang dahilan at tinignan kung anong oras na 5:17 palang ng umaga ang aga kong nagising.

Bumaba ako para maghanda ng kakainin namin ni tita at para narin tulungan si Aling Mading. Naaninag kong nagluluto na si manang kaya't lumapit ako dito.

"Good morning manang." Of course cold paden.

"Jusko! ikaw na bata ka ginulat mo ko." I just smiled.

"Anong ulam? Tutulong ako."

"Ikaw na bata ka, trabaho ko'to kaya maupo ka nalang diyan sa mesa." manang.

"I insist, I can't just sit around and do nothing." pagprotesta ko.

"Iha, amo kita at pinapasahod niyo ako kaya dapat lang na wala kayong kailangan gawin."

"But.. si Tita ang nagpapasahod sainyo at hindi ako." sabi ko nalang. "And manang I just wanna help."

"Sige na nga. Ang kulit mong bata ka." at tumawa si manang I just smiled again.

7'oclock nagising si tita ako naman ay pumuntang kwarto ko at naligo.

Sinuot ko ang unipormeng bigay sakin ni tita and surprisingly sakto sa sukat ko. The skirt is 2 inch above the knee that is black with a white lining and white blouse with necktie and a black blazer. I like it.

Tita enrolled me in this school, named Grei University. And that school owns by tita ysabelle, wow.

As I was walking through the hallway eyes on me. And I hate it.

"Staring is rude." thats what I said and everybody looked away.

I'm on my way to the deans office to get my schedule anf to know where my section is. I found tge office and I just went in without a knock. The lady in front of me didn't even flinch as if he already know that this will happen.

"Have a sit, Elena." she said with a smile plastered on her face. I walked into the seat she's pointing and I see her name on her table. Catrina Belle. "Here is your schedule and your section. You may now proceed to your class."

I found my section and its diamond.
I'm in front of the door hesitating whether I'll knock or not. But being me, I didn't.

The teacher is kind of pissed because of what I did. And the whole class is looking at me.

"You must be the new student."
'you bet I am, isn't obvious?' of course I said that on my mind. As for the answer I nod. "Please, kindly introduce yourself to the class." here we go again.

"I'm Elena Amber Sapphire Grei." coldy as usual. Yes, tita Belle told me that I will use her surname.

"And I'm Olivia Honteveros your Science teacher. Okay you may now take your seat."  she said, papunta na sana akong upuan ko pero may nag tanong na isang babae.

"Yes, Ms. Rodriguez?" she asked to that girl she called rodriguez.

"I just have a question to her." sabi naman nung rodriguez.

"Okay feel free to ask her."

"What is your relationship with the owner of this school?" as expected may magtatanong at magtatanong ng ganto pero sinabi na sakin ni tita ysabelle na kung may nagtanong sabihin ko lang na mama ko siya.

"What do you think?" I anwer.

"Uhm. I-- your mother?" she said.

"Yes, she is my mother. I'm her only daughter and only child. Any question?" I ask pero wala naman na umimik so I proceed to go to my seat.
Tabi ng bintana.

The lesson continued and while me? I'm not listening, of course. I just look at the window to see the significant view in this school.

Its currently break time and I'm in the cafeteria eating my strawberry cake I ordered. Everyone is looking at me, and it somewhat irritated me. A girl approaches me and sit in front me.

"Hi there, mind if I join you?" said this girl. As an answer I nod.

"I'm Coreen Hanez Hudson by the way." at inilahad ang kamay niya.

"Elena Grei. Nice meeting you Coreen." we shaked hands and smile. Then she asked me what is my relationship with the owner of the school and as I expected tatanungin at tatanungin niya ito. As usual my answer is mama ko si tita.

We talked a lot of things but at the same time cold parin ako. I didn't show any emotion. Yes I smiled a while ago but that doesn't mean na di nako cold.

The break is done and I'm on my way to our class but I sense something, like someone is looking at me. I looked behind me and saw nothing but an empty hallway. Geez, thats odd. I just shrugged the thoughts of it and continue to walk.

As soon as I'm in front of the door I just entered not bothering na nagtuturo yung teacher. Nainis naman ito.

"A new student? Yet didn't know how to knock? What a shame. Whats your name?" daming dada tsk.

"Elena Grei." I coldly replied.

"Elena Grei? I'm Gello Natividad your math teacher. Now I want you to answer this problem as a punishment of what you did earlier." I just rolled my eyes mentally.

I went to the board and answer the problem and everyone is surprise even this man name Gello.

"Now may I go to my seat?" Bored na sabi ko.

"Yes you may miss Grei... but what is your relationship of--" I didn't let him finish.

"She's my mother." And with that bumalik nako sa upuan ko. Ngayon lang ba nila nalaman na may anak si tita? sabagay foster parents ko lang naman siya and every one knows na walang naging asawa o anak si tita kaya yun na nga siguro ang pagtataka nila.

And yes walang asawa or anak si tita sinabi niya yun sakin.

nagpaalam ang guro namin hudyat na tapos na ang pagtuturo niya samin.

and dumating naman anh filipino teacher namin and so on. Nagring ang bell hudyat na tapos na ang klase at uwian na. Pagkalabas na pagkalabas oo nakita ko si Coreen nag-aantay sakin. Oh yeah, ibang section siya at napag usapan din namin na sabay na kami umuwi kahit na sa umpisa I insist pero makulit eh. Wala nakong magagawa and besides magkalapit lang pala ang bahay ni tita este mansyin pala at bahay nila.

Naglalakad na kami at walang tigil kakadada ang babaeng kasama ko. Oh well, di ko nalang pinagtuunan ng pansin ng tumigil ako sa haraoan ng mansyon ni tita. Kita ko naman na nanlaki ang mga mata nito na napagtanto kong kulay berde ito.

"Kyaaah! Dito ka talaga nakatira? I didn't know na sobrang yaman niyo pala at sobrang laki ng tahanan niyo! At ang mas nakakabigla ay magkalapit lang pala talaga tayo ng bahay! Yan lang bahay namin oh." Sabay turo neto ang katapat lang na malaking bahay din. Exaggerated yan lang ng isip ko. Ang laki din ng bahay nila at matatawag mong mansyon ito pero mas malaki talaga ang mansyon ni tita.

"I'm not exaggerating." Sabi neto na ikinataka ko. How did she know? "It's written on your face Elena. By the way I need to goo~Byee! See you tomorrow!" Sabi neto habang papa-alis. I sighed. I guess di nako matatahimik neto. I opened the gate ang Aling Sonya welcomed me and I smile a bit. If you're wondering why Aling Sonya and not Aling mading is that tita has five maids thats why. 

"Welcome back Elena!" Malakas na sigaw ni tita pagkapasok ko sa loob. "So how's school?" tanong neto.

"Its great I guess?" nagtaka naman siyang tumingin sakin. I sighed before telling her. "It's great its just that parang naninibago sila dahil nagpakilala ako bilang anak mo sakanila at parang hindi makapaniwala." Tita laughed.

"Don't mind them dear. Oh, by the way I see you made a friend, huh?" Diko nalang pinansin ang sinabi niya at dumiretso sa taas upang makapag bihis at makapag pahinga. Pero bago ako maka-akyat may narinig akong sinabi ni tita.

"Hays. Ang cold niya." Napailing nalang ako. Naalala ko pa kasi yung nangyare nung nakaraang gabi. So magic does really exist huh?
