"You have drool on your face." Mark pointed out.
Donghyuck internally screamed, wiping his face with his sleeve. He mumbled a quick thanks to Mark before heading behind the counter.
An hour went by and their shift was going by smoothly. A few customers came by the convenience store here and there to grab a quick late night snack and such. Mark was unpacking goods from boxes that had just arrived and started stacking them in their respected spots. The two boys were working in silence until Mark spoke up.
"Hey Donghyuck, I was thinking-"
"Wow since when did do you start to do that?" He asked sarcastically.
The Canadian laughed, but his expression turned back to a serious one, "I was just thinking maybe we could start over, I feel like we started off on the wrong foot you know?"
Hyuck perked his head up, is he actually serious?
And Mark's face said it all, Hyuck simply shrugged, bringing his attention back to the almost clean counter, "Yeah I guess we can do that but it doesn't mean that I'll let all of my grudges towards you go."
Mark nodded and smiled before walking up to the counter where Donghyuck was standing and extended his hand out.
"I'm Mark, nice to meet you."
Hyuck eyed him up and down before shaking his hand. Mark's hands had a rough texture to them, even if their soft and smooth appearance would say otherwise.
"Not-so-nice to meet you, I'm Donghyuck."
Mark rolled his eyes and he chuckled, "Tell me about yourself."
"You practically know all there is to know though." Donghyuck said. "I just know the basics. I want to know more than just the basics. I mean you're not like those basics Donghyucks' out there."
Dongyuck felt something in his chest that he couldn't explain. That comment made him feel as if he was important for once.
"Ah, thanks I guess." The room was silent and it seemed as if they were both trying to collect words to convert into sentences but were so insecure about saying anything.
"What if we play 21 questions?" Donghyuck suggested but Mark had confusion written all over his face.
"It's a game where we make excuses to ask a bunch of questions to a person and that person gets to ask some questions back."
"Oh, that's easy. Who's gonna go first?"
Donghyuck pointed at the Canadian."Ummm, haha, alright let me think for a second..." Mark took out his phone in desperate need for questions.
"Oh okay." He said after typing away on his phone.
"1. What's the first thing you notice about a person?
2. Biggest pet peeve?
3. What are 5 words you would use to describe yourself?
4. Are you introverted or extroverted?
5. Favorite fruit?
6. What are best nicknames you've been given?
7. If you had to run away, where would you go and who would you bring along with you?
8. Do loud noises bother you?
9. Which is better, coffee or tea?
10. What is your passion?
11. How-""stOP!!"
Hyuck quickly leaned over the counter to cover Mark's mouth, "One question at a time and let's make it 5 questions."
Mark laughed, "Alright, what's the first thing you notice about a person?"
"Well of course I notice how the chromosomes in their ce- their fucking face Mark." Mark laughed again while Hyuck rolled his eyes at the older boy.
"That was a dumb question, next."
"Biggest pet peeve?"
Haechan thought for a moment because it was hard to choose between so many things that annoyed him. "It's either when people can't take a joke or when they make fun of me because I can't see some colors correctly."
Mark's head perked to the side, "You're colorblind?"
Haechan only shrugged, "I guess that's one way to put it but I prefer to look at it as; I see better colors than you." The Canadian rolled his eyes, of course he'd say that.
"Anyways, five words you'd use to describe yourself?"
"Beautiful, outstanding, amazing, fabulous, show stopping son of a bitch." Hyuck was doing a different pose for every word.
"I- okay." Mark only laughed.
"Last one."
"I only asked 3 though."
"You asked me if I was colorblind so that counts as a question."
The older boy brushed it off, knowing the other would just keep insisting that it count.
"Be honest, how are you actually doing?" Donghyuck was taken back a bit, they were simple words but strangely powerful?
But putting that aside he couldn't just spill his feeling to a suddenly nice asshole.
"I'm tired... of your bullshit."
"Understandable, your turn."
"I second everything you just asked."
".... you sneaky son of a gun."
Haechan smiled innocently, poking Mark's shoulder teasingly, "I got chaaaaa~"
Mark groaned and stretched his arms. "Fine, but I guess the first thing I notice about a person is their hair and eyes."
Haechan rolled his eyes and mumbled, "you could've just said face but you do you I guess."
"What was that?" Mark tilted his head, pretending he hadn't heard.
"Nothing important, don't worry. Next question""My biggest pet peeve.." Mark hummed, trying to think of what bothered him the most. "Probably rude people, or anyone boring and salty for no reason at all-"
Hyuck interrupted, "So like you? You're your biggest pet peeve." He let out a snicker.
"Hey don't interrupt me." Mark attempted to scold. "Oh really?" the younger boy gave a daring stare, it was filled with confidence and a threatening aura.
"Or what?" Hyuck smirked.
"I'll kiss you."
