Jessica combed her straight, black hair back into a tight pony tail. Not a single strand found its way out of the tight grip held by the red rubber band. She pulled up a minuscule box of glitters and spread some on her palms. She then wiped back her hair with her palms to give her hair an extravagant look. She pulled out a black shirt and buttoned it up to the second button. She slipped into her ribcage high skinny jeans and wore her dark brown boots. A sliver of gold shone from her neck as a locket hung there, loose. Gold was effectively very distinct on Jessica's skin, it always found a way to be noticed. Her wristband was gold too, with little pink flowers spread across the band. Her perfume was typical to her, she never told anyone what she used, no one could quite grasp what the smell was, but it was essentially very simple. She used a myriad of different fragrances for different parts of her body. She didn't know why she did it, it made her feel comfortable in her skin, it made her feel confident. She was always appreciated by her friends and family. Jessica was the star of her social group. The bell rang with a twang, she had half a mind to skip her lipstick but remembering who it was, she quickly painted her lips with a soft hue of pink. She skipped stairs downwards and dropped a couple of her belongings on the way. As soon as she reached the door, she slowed down. Her hand slightly touched the bottom of her hair and she opened the door, slowly. He stood there, beaming. His soft eyes met hers, he was taller than she was. He wore a black T-shirt with tiny white stars on them. His smile was wide, it seemed like he looked up to her, quite a bit. He brushed his hair back, and stood there, lean but not completely upright. He slid his hand into hers and pulled her out of the house.

"What are you doing here?"

"You were quite late so I thought I'd pick you up."

"But I'm not ready yet, Jack! You always do this. You have to be willing enough to give me some time to get ready. I know, I was running late. I had work in the office. You could've waited for a couple of minutes. I know, I would've. This is not acceptable, Jack. You can't just turn up in my house like this. What if my mother was around?"

Jack looked at her through his stung eyes. He thought this little surprise would've delighted her.

" You had an off today. How did you have work?"

"Office related work. I was working from home."

"Your mother is in Missouri, and she won't be back until the day after. "

"Still. Just give me some space."

"You know, those are really big words. Don't treat me like I'm a fucking kid."

"Yeah, I'm sorry." She continued walking, looking ahead. He followed her, staring at her, thinking.
