Apocalypse (AOT Fic)

CHAPTER ONE - THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM I

It's 9.00 p.m. in Trost Town. Jean is working on his paperwork as he is a policeman in Trost Police Department. "Big bro!" Suddenly his 12 years old sister, Ella jumped on the couch. A bit shocking him. 

''Hey there, sis.'' Jean rubbed Ella's ash-brown hair softly while smiling at his only sister. ''Aren't you supposed to sleep now? It's almost... Oh, nevermind. I bet you're boring.'' He said. The attention to paperworks is no more. Now he only want to be with his sister. The clock shows 8.40 pm. ''I'm not sleepy yet. By the way, Era hasn't come back yet?'' Ella asked. Suddenly the front door open and there, appear a beautiful woman aged 22 with slim shape, black hair, a bit pale complexion and green eyes. 

It was Era Jaeger. She has been Jean's friend since they were 10 and start being a housemate at 17 until now. As you can see the surname, yes. She is an identical twin of Eren Jaeger as they got same features. Except for her, she got a brown hair like their father and is far more shorter than his brother. 

''Hey there, you two.'' She said with a tired smile. Although she is tired from a whole day of hard work, she comes and hug Ella, by the way. ''Have you both eaten?'' She asked. 

''Well, I've eaten an instant noodle. But Ella hasn't.'' Jean said while continued to focus on his paperwork. ''I see. Say, my sweetie. What would you like to eat?'' Era asked. Ella stopped a bit to think. ''A small sandwich will do.'' She said, finally. Era gave her a smile.  ''Would you be able to wait for me to finish taking a bath and change my clothes?'' Era asked. Ella nodded and the female Jaeger goes up, take a bath and change her clothes. From a light blue blouse and black pants to something really simple; light grey shirt and black casual palazzo that she always wear everytime she is ready to go to sleep. 

Era then moves to kitchen followed by Ella on her back. She starts taking two slices of bread, some salad, mayonnaise and fries some crushed eggs before placing it one by one and give it to Ella, who munch on it as it is the most delicious food in the world. ''Would you like some beverages? Seems like you're very  tired from facing the laptop.'' Era ask Jean while cleaning the utensils that she used to make Ella's sandwich earlier.  ''Nah, it's okay. Just a little bit and I'm done.'' Jean said. ''Ella, wash the plates after you eat. Don't forget that.'' Era said. She grab two cup of instant hot milk tea. She gave one of it to Jean. 

''Argh... I'm so tired today. Doing the job that someone else should do.'' Era said. She opened Netflix and start watching her favourite drama, Grey's Anatomy. ''Is Sasha absent?'' Jean asked. He shut down the laptop and start sipping on the tea.

 ''No... But both of us had to do the work that someone else should do. You know what I mean? One of the colleague run away from job and both me and Sasha had to do the works, from arranging the stocks of medicines to consult a few men to stop smoking. Since Historia is sick and can't come, both of us had to do everything! Urghh...'' She grunts. ''Who is that irresponsible colleague? May I know?'' Jean said, as if it he is interested. Ella just finished cleaning the plate. She said good night to her brother and Era before going upstairs, ready to go to sleep. ''Don't forget to brush your teeth!'' Era shout from the couch. 

''Remember the girl who engaged to Marcus? It was Serena Johnsonn. They just broke up a few days ago. Marcus said that Serena have a beautiful face but unfortunately she is lazy. She left the house uncleaned and remember the time when you pick me up from the job last months and you bring Ella? She asked me if I am your wife and she thought Ella is our daughter. Like, seriously?'' 

Jean continued listening to Era. ''What make she think like that anyway?'' 

Era shrugged. ''Maybe it's because Ella has green eyes like me  and ash-brown hair like you. I said, you are no more than a housemate to me and Ella is my foster sister.'' 

Jean turn off his laptop and tidy up his paperworks. ''It's 9.45pm now,'' He said. ''Don't you want to sleep after a long day of work?'' 

''Nah... Just an episode or two then I'll go to bed.'' Era said as she continues watching the drama. Since she's a teenager, medical concepted drama or movie is her favourites.
