The familiar scent of strawberries lingered on the soft fabric of my pillow. A small groan leaked from my lips as I squint to check the clock on my bedside table, "shit" I half gasp half moan as the time read 8:37am, I had 23 minutes to get to work, if I was late again my boss would have no trouble but to fire me.
Hauling up my jeans and pulling on a maroon sweatshirt before I stumbled through to the bathroom, checking my appearance in the mirror I furrow my eyebrows in disgust, the way my brown hair sat would have to do and I didn't have time to put on any makeup to cover the blemish on my temple. It was now ten to 9 and I had obviously missed the bus so walking would be my only option of getting to work. Although it takes half an hour by bus so god knows how long it would take me to walk with my little legs.
Pulling out my phone I scroll through the contacts list before getting to the one listed as "work" before hitting call "H-hello" I stutter hearing a familiar sigh on the other end
"Sophie why aren't you at work" my boss booms
"Slept in" I bluntly reply feeling the cool air ripple across my legs
"Consider yourself fired" he yells down the line at me before a distinctive beep at the end indicating he had hung up.
I had only been walking for around five minutes and it had already begun raining heavily, every inch of my body shivered violently with the weather. "Are you ok?" A voice asks concerned "you're shivering really bad" I turn to see a tall blonde boy in all black, rain dripping from his hair and jacket in had, I was afraid to speak in fear that no words could be formed "my name is Luke"
