I ran as fast as i can. Unmindful of the twist and turn of every street. I ran until i can barely breath. I stumbled down a few times still i ran.
Suddenly my body collapsed and as i fell into the damp soil my eyes met with an unfamiliar ones. The gleam of the auspicious moon reflected the emerald eyes that stared upon me.
I twist and turned as i stood up. And as i adapt to the cold breeze of the night i found my self staring at a Goddess.
Her long jet black hair that reached up to her waist. The curves of her waist that was noticeable at first glance. And again her eyes met mine. I felt that i was staring to a gemstone, the same pair of emerald eyes that was gleamed with the light of the moon were staring at me.
As I approached with a step she shivered. I settled with one approach. And as i stopped moving she gestured towards me with a curious face. We gazed upon each other with silence.
The hooting of the owl. The dancing sound of the trees to the rhythm of the wind made music. I held my hand and wait for a response as i bowed. She leaned closer with a smile as she took my hand.
I heard the footsteps of the running men who were chasing me. As i looked back i saw no one. And again i ran until i saw the gleaming lights of the city.
That night never left my mind. As days passed by I decided to go back. To the place where the Goddess awaits. I journeyed to the dark forest. I could feel a chill down my spine.
My eyes lit up when i saw a a familiar figure. Hastily I approached her and as i did, she jumped out. I chuckled lowly as she stares at me with a bit of anger plastered across her beautiful face.
I apologized sincere enough for forgive me with a smile. Once again silence filled the place. The gleam of the enormous moon gave light to the dark forest.
As i began to talk she dis the same. "Ashaila" she spoke. "What a beautiful name" i replied. "Oh! I mean Kairo" I replied hastily getting out of my daydream . She giggled as I stuttered.
And then every single day i just find myself coming back and enjoying her company. "Can i tell you a secret " se bummed. "Hmmm? What is it?" I answered back.
"Promise not to tell a single soul?" She spoke softly. "I promise dear princess " i joked out. "I am the soul of the forest " she nervously told me.
"I am afraid that I cannot do anything about that. But i promise i wont leave for you are who you are and you are the one i love." I confessed
She was speechless for a second. " I was afraid i was the the only One astonished by your Beauty" I continued. "Oh Kairo my moon,my heart beats the same" she smiled at me.
I jumped out of joy knowing these. I kissed her out of reflexes and she did the same. Days continued to pass us by me by her side at times.
As i went visit her i was shocked to see her face fading away. I held in my arms. "My love forgive me for telling you." She breathlessly spoke "Not telling me what!!!" I panicked.
As she cupped my face tears were streaming down her face. " I am forbidden to love for it will kill me."
I was on the verge of breaking down as she told me. "My love how can i undo this curse? How can i let you live? How can i make you say." My voice was creaking
"Nothing. It was my choice to love you Kairo. It was me who put death upon myself. I have to choose between my life or you. But you became my life. I will always be in your heart. You can call out to me whenever. The moon will watch over you." She told me as she kisses my lips.
"I love you my Kairo. I will never regret loving you until my last breath." And when said those words her body began to glow, shattering into pieces.
I held her closer as i saw her smile at me for the last time. "I will see you again My prince" last words that came out of her mouth as the wind blew her pieces away into the dim sky.
Her words marked my heart. Her face was craved by every inch of me. I stared at the glittering pieces on the sky as I realized she was one with the stars.
I bid farewell as I decided to go back. Mourning from her death i kept blaming myself.
I went to back to the forest to discover a cliff. As i wanted to jump i heard a voice "hush my love save your cries and live" it says. I broke into tears hearing those words
From then on the curse forest remain untold as i went back again and again. Our sweetest memories lingered in the cold breeze. The secret of the curse called love that unfolds when Night falls.
