OPENING STATEMENT
In order to write about something, you must first know how it feels.
This statement was one I found truly credible, for a time.
Effectively, it means that writers rarely write unless they know what they're writing about. If you don't understand that tongue-twister, I'll lengthen its explanation. For example, a writer will not write about what it feels like to fall in love unless they have experience or at least a brief idea of what love feels like. If they do, the outcome is likely to either be exceedingly uninformative or entirely easy and if you find a piece of that writing, it is likely to be on an online platform with a twelve-year-old k-pop fanatic author who also happens to write unrealistic, romanticised 'mafia smut' in their spare time.
However- if a writer intends to write well, they write what they know, or what they have been bothered enough to explore. They write the exploding sparks of tranquillity or rush of mixed emotion in a first kiss (or the underwhelming disappointment in one), the twists and turns of love instead of the easy, straight-cut path of it. While our twelve-year-old fanatic writes about love at first sight for the bad boy and the nerd (who desperately needs that makeover to be a valid part of society, don't you know?) or the girl who witnessed a murder, was held captive and tortured, and then mysteriously fell in love with the gang boss (because she could change him, yes!), our experienced, prolific writer enjoys the tantalising slow-burn, the heartbreak or the sudden realisation, or the re-emergence of feelings that leave a reader breathless and entranced.
Of course, that's not to say that a writer who hasn't experienced love can't write it well- it just means that loving BTS and bad-boys at the mere age of twelve isn't the same as falling in love with someone you interact with instead of simply listen to via the great platform of YouTube. Though I'm sure (or I hope) that you know this already.
It is safe to say I have my opinions on how writing should be handled. Because writing is a delicate art, that few have ever truly mastered, in my opinion. You think classic literary genius; Shakespeare, perhaps. Or, dare I say it? Hemingway. I think Kafka, Austen, perhaps even Carroll! (who, in fact, was not Carroll, but Dodgson, as all informed readers know).
I find the literary genius in everything I see. I do not doubt that we all prefer original tales, ones of dark menace or intriguing oddity, but I do believe that even the idea of a maple tree can stem to so much more if described in that certain way that leaves the reader gasping and conclusively in love. I believe that even uncertain ramblings (such as this one) can hold such beauty. Tales which stem nowhere can seem to be going so far. It, indeed, is all held in the writers' hands.
And the hands which type this, now, for you to see soon enough? These hands are to take you on a journey completely inconsequential, but perhaps astonishing in ways your mind will not comprehend as of right now. And so, I lead to my dedication.
DEDICATION
To dreamers, sleepers, resters, runners and walkers. To those who do little, but in the kindest possible ways. To those who know they're everything. To everyone, no matter your importance or societal-value. Because there is beauty in everything and everyone, and I strive to prove this to you via the most unoriginal but startling pieces of work you may imagine.

AUTHOR NOTE [THE ACTUAL AUTHOR, CURSEDINKS]
Welcome to The Musings of a Writing Mind! As you may be able to tell, this story is NOT written from my perspective. I have created a character that is not yet named to you, who has 'written' everything above this statement. I hope you love our author as much as I do, he's quite wonderful! This story is a ten-part novel with the aim of spreading a little light in an otherwise dark world.
P.S. The chapter numbers are in Spanish because the author of the novel is British-Argentinian.
