Walking along the hallways during the brief break between classes, Jake held his bookbag close, he kept himself away from bumping into other students, he didn't want anyone too close, no one...but one. Andy, his best friend since elementary, Jake reached his classroom and took his seat next to Andys, he waited and watched the door, all the while he doodled in his notebook, sighing he made a hill with a tree, underneath he drew himself lying in Andy's lap. A tear slid from his eye and onto his eyelash, where it hung at the tip for a few before finally falling to the paper where it landed on Andy's face.
Jake heard chuckling and he lifted his head to see Andy heading for his seat with a couple of his guy friends, Jake sunk low in his chair as they approached, Andy gave him a smile which made Jake's heart stop, then he thought to himself: How can I have a beating heart? Jake pushed that thought away when he saw Andy's buds leave, Jake sat up straight and turned to see Andy staring at him with a grin.
"What?" Jake asked.
"How are you?"
"I'm ok"
"Feeling any better?"
Jake nodded his head, he's missed class a couple times thanks to something he had to take care of, what he couldn't Andy no matter what, he didn't want to put him in danger. Jake himself had a such a dark secret it was literally tearing him apart that he remained so close to Andy, but he couldn't share it with him, he shared many other things, but this he could not. Blinking he looked at Andy to find him staring at Jake's notebook, Jake hurriedly placed his arms over the page and blushed.
"What were you drawing?"
"A um...a...plane."
"Oh. Didn't know you liked them."
"I felt like it."
"Ok."
Jake watched as Andy turned his page in the textbook to read ahead of the class, Jake couldn't help but wonder if Andy was in the right class. Sighing he carefully closed his notebook and placed it into his bag before opening his textbook, only he turned the pages boredly and slow. When the teacher started class, Jake was passed out on his book, only when Andy shook his arm and called his name did Jake open his eyes, he looked at Andy who was smiling.
I love his smile.
Jake lifted his head and yawned, he stood and waited for Andy, then he followed him out of the building and to a market place, there they bought many ingredients. Jake blanched each time, the sight of all the vegetables disgusted him, but what made it worse was the thought of eating it. Yet he had no choice, he had too, for Andy. Jake followed Andy with a couple bags in his hands, usually this would tire someone out, but to Jake it didn't and Jake could've carried all the bags of food but he couldn't without raising suspicion.
Andy hummed along the way, Jake smiled, Andy has such a nice voice. After the thought Jake felt something drip from his mouth, he reached up to find it slimey. I drooled? Jake gulped and wiped it away, Oh gawd, i need to feast soon. When they reached the apartment they shared, Andy left the food in the kitchen and went to shower, it was his routine, Jakes' routine was to put everything away, and get their homework out. Jake sat in the chair and waited for Andy to finish, when Andy came over, Jake waved and showed him the drink they were to have for the evening.
Andy nodded and they began to work, Jake grew bored halfway and decided not to bother. Andy on the other hand was so engrossed, Jake had to remind him to start making dinner or he'll starve. Smiling Jake watched Andy move about, the scent of the food cooking made Jake sick, so he excused himself to go outside on the balcony and gaze at the city. How much longer can i stay here? When will i be forced to leave Andy's side? Jake felt a breeze tickle his neck and he gasped, It's gonna be a cold night. Yawning he heads inside to find Andy waiting for him with their food, he was smiling.
