It was snowing when Olivia could leave for the night. Lola had already gone home, so Olivia had to either walk home or try and catch the bus.
"Need a ride?" Elliot asked as he finished locking up the back door and walked to his car.
"No. I'm fine," Olivia replied. She pulled her hat over her ears and started to walk towards the trailer park.
"Liv, please just get in the car. You don't need to get sick or mugged or anything." Elliot huffed, and Olivia looked at him before frowning.
"I shouldn't have given you the car. Because if I had kept it, I wouldn't have to accept your ride." She spoke, before walking over and climbing into the passenger seat. Elliot smiled as he climbed into the car and started it up.
He noticed that Olivia was staring out the window, so as he waited for the car to warm up a bit more before heading out, he looked at her.
"I have missed you so much, Liv. Please come home." Elliot begged.
"Why should I come home? Because you decided now that it's past the time we were supposed to go to Manhattan, you decided that we could go?" Olivia spat. Elliot reached over and grabbed her hand and squeezed it tightly.
"I love you, Liv. I was a fucking idiot to think that you caused my accident. Or to say no to you when I know that you want to see Avery so freaking bad. I guess I was scared that if we went you'd just want to stay there and we'd leave everything behind here. You know that I hate Manhattan and I had only gone back to take care of my mother."
"I wanted to see my daughter, Elliot. My baby is there and probably the only chance I could see her was ruined because you didn't want to do it. Because we only do what you want." Olivia whispered.
"Then tell me what you want... I'll do anything for you." Elliot breathed. Olivia looked over at him before swallowing hard.
"I want you. I want to be married to you. I want to have kids with you. I want Avery to know that I love her even though we have kids together and I gave her up for adoption. I want to stop feeling bad about us promising each other things just to have them fall through."
"Then let's go back to the trailer and pack everything up again. Let's go to our house. Where you still have a lot of decorating to do." Elliot spoke, and Olivia bit her lip before reaching over and touching his cheek gently before kissing his lips softly.
"I miss sleeping in the same bed as you."
"You miss having me keeping you warm since you seem to be an ice cube." Elliot laughed softly, and she bit her lip and nodded.
"Well, isn't that why people start dating?"
=+=
They both had to admit that it felt good to be back together. That it felt great to sleep in the same bed together and to wake up in the middle of the night to see the other sleeping beside them, instead of sleeping in different houses.
"So, how did the surgery go?" Olivia asked as she and Elliot ate breakfast the morning they got back together. Elliot made Olivia breakfast, which surprised her. She always did all the cooking, but then he changed it up and cooked for her.
"It went okay. I was so tired afterward and my hand kept throbbing. But I'm glad I got it over with and my hand is better." Elliot replied. Olivia nodded slowly before reaching over and placing her hand on his upper leg. She leaned over and kissed him a few times before smiling.
"You don't wanna go to work today, do you?" Elliot asked, and Olivia shook her head.
"No. I want to stay here all day long so that I can just be with you. We were broke up for nearly a month..." Olivia trailed off.
"Oh, sex." Elliot winked, and Olivia laughed softly.
"Possibly. But Elliot, I just want to catch up. I want to hang out here for a while and get caught up on what had happened in both of our lives."
"I called Avery's parents after we broke up and I told them about how I messed it all up... they were sending you stuff from Avery again. I think it's supposed to be here today or tomorrow."
"What?" Olivia asked.
"More like they were bringing Avery out here so she can meet you," Elliot spoke, and Olivia drew in a sharp breath as tears welled in her eyes.
"Really?" She asked.
"Yeah. That's why I was so annoying and wanted to bring you back home. It's because I needed you to be here for when Avery and her parents arrived."
"Oh god. We need to clean up and should we set up the spare bedroom so that they can stay here? Or are they staying at a hotel?" Olivia asked, as she stood and quickly started to clean up breakfast even though Elliot didn't tell her what day Avery and her parents would be here.
"Olivia sit down. Eat. We have plenty of time." Elliot spoke.
"What day are they here? Today or tomorrow, Elliot?"
"Tomorrow at noon they are supposed to be here. I already talked to the managers and they said it's okay if you take time off... I'll be covering for you. So make sure that your uniform is clean because I think that since I'm covering for you I should just pretend to be you." Elliot smiled.
She walked over to him and pressed a kiss to his lips before smiling at him.
"Thanks, Elliot. This means so freaking much to me. I'm so ready to meet my daughter... she's amazing. Beyond amazing... right?"
"She's exactly like you. Smart. Cute. Sassy. She has your nose wrinkles."
"My nose wrinkles? What are you talking about?!" Olivia laughed, and he smiled.
"Those wrinkles! Now, since I'm incredibly sorry for being an ass and I love you so much, I'll help clean up today before my shift."
"Thank you, El... for cleaning and for letting them come here."
