Summary: After you can't take your boyfriend's cheating any longer, you run to the Stark Tower for comfort. Bucky and you get closer than ever as he tries to convince you to break up with him, knowing perfectly well that your boyfriend is manipulating you. However, it's not gonna be easy.

Tears well up in your eyes as you let yourself slide down the bathroom door. Your head keeps spinning as thoughts come rushing in. He cheated. Your boyfriend cheated on you. But it wasn't just this once, he's cheated before and you knew. However, every time you found evidence of him having been with another girl, something in you was stopping you from confronting him about it, and if you did, he would sweet-talk you so that you'd forget about it. And you sort of did. You kept bottling your feelings up until today. The line had already been crossed long ago, but today you couldn't take it anymore. After coming home from the Stark Tower, you found Alex in bed with another woman. Today was the first time you actually saw him, other times you saw texts or another woman's underwear scattered around your apartment. You'd think that this sort of thing wouldn't happen to an Avenger, that you'd be strong enough to put a stop to it and break up with him, but it wasn't that easy. It wasn't easy to cut someone off from your life after being with them for five years, especially since he was able to emotionally manipulate you oh so easily by convincing you time after time that he would change and that it wouldn't happen again. Part of you wanted to believe him, but the same thing happened all over again. You were in a toxic relationship and you knew it, but you just couldn't break up with him, scared of what would happen after.
You keep crying on the bathroom floor when you suddenly hear a knock on the door.

"Baby, are you in there?" Alex asks from behind the door and you don't answer, you just break into more sobs. "I'm so sorry, baby girl, just open the-"

"Don't call me that." you cut him off.

"Just hear me out, y/n, please." he says with desperation in his voice.

"Seriously, what is your problem, Alex?" you say as more tears keep falling.

"I- I'm so sorry." he says.

"Am I not good enough for you?" you ask as you start recovering yourself and standing up as you plan something in your head.

"What?! Of course you are! You're everything I want! I love you, y/n." he says and you scoff.

"Yeah sure." you mumble as you look at your wrecked-looking face in the mirror. Alex keeps trying to get you to open the door but his voice is drowned out by your thoughts to the point where you've completely shut him out. You climb on the toilet and get on your tiptoes to reach the ceiling. You push the panel out of the way with your fingers and once it's open, you grab your emergency gear you had hidden in there. Alex didn't know you were an Avenger, nobody did but the Avengers themselves. When Fury found you after you helped significantly in the Battle of New York back in 2012 thanks to your top spy skills and your ability to manipulate or hack any type of technology, you two had agreed to keep your identity a secret from the rest of the world because you still wanted to keep a somewhat normal life.
After quickly putting your mask on, which were basically black goggles, and tying a harness to your hips, you open the window and start to climb outside, tying a chord to a hook on the building's brick wall. Once it's secure, you start lowering yourself down the tall building, with tears still in your eyes. You were known for acting impulsively in stressful and emotional situations, and this was one of those times. You start dialing your best friend's phone number as you quickly make your way through the city that never sleeps.
