Shane Morgan was ruthless; but only when it came to his own aspirations. It was in him to care about someone who couldn't benefit him in one way or another. So, obviously when he was given the prospectus to find the 'wild-child'—and he is using that term lightly—inherent of the Reynolds empire, he refused. She could in no way, help him climb the corporate ladder; that is, if what he had heard about her was true. (a very likely situation)
'So what changed his mind?' one might ask.
Well, the contract that instated him as a senior partner at the company, if he succeeded, definitely didn't have anything to do with it. Shane was simply a Good Samaritan and was just helping the company he had devoted a good part of his adult life to.
Besides, from where he stood, it seemed an easy enough job. He just had to find the girl, bring her back and the company would take for it.
For starters, Shane didn't know, that nothing in life actually comes that easy.
