I love you, but you loved me
Past tense, you loved me once
But I still love you, and you'd never know it
Our love was always uneven
And it still is
I fell for you, and I thought the love was true
The thought of love was knocking at my door
I answered, but with no hesitation
I was alone, so I let love in
Love fell into my arms, the way you cradle a baby
And love looked more like happiness, than lust
Love felt like a song, that was on repeat
And I was content
Soon enough, Love stopped singing the lyrics to my favorite song
I was no longer loved, I was in love
Love claims to last forever
And it did, I still loved him but he never loved me
