Have you ever had dreams that truthfully scared you? I don't mean the simple feeling of uneasiness that you get when watching a suspenseful movie. I'm talking about the kind that wakes you up in the middle of the night with a cold bead of sweat running down your face. I think these are truthfully nightmares. Sure, there are bad dreams from time to time, but nightmares are absolutely terrifying from the moment of waking up to the moment going back to bed.

I remember a long time ago, I had a terrible nightmare where there were sirens going off, similar to the ones that warn of a tornado, but they were much louder with a different tone. Also, it was set in a flat plain with sparse greenery. It already seemed lifeless as is. But apparently not enough, because just before waking, a bomb was dropped out of what seemed to be nowhere, and it was far enough for me to get a view of the gigantic mushroom cloud that formed after the initial blinding explosion. Seeing this terrified me to the point of waking instantly and reaching around my person to make sure it wasn't real. But what puts the "icing on the cake," is that there was a test alarm on the television that went off just after I woke up. This was not only scary, but it made me paranoid for the rest of the day. I felt as though it was almost an omen or something, like the world I knew was going to end. And in a way, I guess it was somewhat correct.
