All My Aunties

Mommy was always a force on her own

Effortlessly in control her life

Never could she have imagined it when

Daddy asked her to be his wife

Mommy and Daddy got married so young

Oh what a party they had

Next came the honeymoon and a short while later

News to make Mommy's friends glad

Everyone knows the benefits of having Auntie's

Spoiling is their favorite part

Daddy may not get along with them always

But no one can question their heart

Mommy had so many "Aunties" by her side

When I finally made my arrival

I'll introduce you to a few of them now

The village that fostered my survival

I'll start with my Auntie full of affection

So quick to give me a kiss

She can be a little smothering at times

Her perfume I definitely won't miss

I do have an Auntie who is somewhat hippy

And thinks of my parents as yuppies

She tell's my Mommy she wants a baby of her own

I think she should start with some puppies

The next Auntie on my list is very high strung

More than a little bit hyper

She likes to keep busy which suits my Mommy just fine

Especially when she helps change my diaper

There is one Auntie who is very responsible

She fully pauses at any stop signs

Of course she was the one to teach me to draw

And to color inside of the lines

One of my Aunties is quite the germaphobe

Whose always quick with a complaint

She washes her hands 10 times a day

And can't even watch me finger paint

We all have an Auntie who takes a lot of pictures

Especially of her trips overseas

She tried to teach me the word "selfie" last week

But first I need to learn my ABC's

Next is my Auntie looking for love

To be swept off her feet by a knight

She and Mommy talk while they open the fridge

And then ask the question "red" or "white"

The last of my Aunties is all about fashion

Mommy is jealous of all her free time

She even has the chance to go to the mall

Poor Mommy does all her shopping on-line

Where would I be without all of my Auntie's

Always offering to help babysit

Loving and mothering and eager as ever

To buy me the best new outfit
