"Hey, do you think dad would let me move back?" I was currently on facetime with my best friend, Sicheng.

"I mean, there's a chance that he will say yes and a chance that he'll say no. So it won't hurt to ask I guess." He said, shrugging his shoulders.

"You're a lot of help." I rolled my eyes. "Of course. I am the smartest one between us after all." He grinned cheekily. "Whatever. What do I say? 'Hey dad I'm moving back home.'"

"Don't say that dumbass. You have to ask him, not tell him. He's still your dad after all." He rolled his eyes, "You really are the dumb one."

I scoffed, "Yeah yeah, and I'm eighteen I shouldn't have to ask anymore. But whatever, I'm gonna go ask now. If you don't hear from me in a few days then I've died." He just laughed at my sarcasm. "See you in heaven then I guess."

"You mean hell?" I grinned. "Pft, sure. I'll be in heaven, you'll be the one in hell." He chuckled. I waved goodbye to him and ended the call.

I moved to America two years ago, because my father moved here for what he called 'work' and wanted me to come with him. I'm honestly not sure what he does, because he never really told me. My father is a very secretive man.

He said I should experience new places and make new friends. He also says that it's safer here for me. I was confused by what he meant and when I asked he just pushed it aside.

It's not that I don't want to see him and live with him, it's just that I've always been more comfortable with mom. I didn't really see dad much growing up because of them being divorced.

I made my way downstairs to talk to him. "Hey dad, can I talk to you?" I sat down on the chair next to him. "Of course. What is it?" He looked up from his newspaper.

"Can I move back to Seoul? Please?" I hesitantly. I wasn't sure how he would react. It's been 2 years since I lived with my mom. "Why?" He asked curiously.

"It's been a two years and I still don't have any friends, plus you're always gone for work." I explained, trying my best to convince him. "And I miss mom and Sicheng."

He sat there for a minute, staring at the paper in his hands. "Alright, you can move back." I was about to jump up and down in excitement when he started speaking again. "But, you have to promise to be safe and don't go wandering the streets at night. Same rules as we have here."

I quickly nodded my head. "Deal. Thank you!" I smiled giving him a small hug. My dad and I might not be close, but I still love him.

"You'll have to leave Friday because I have to travel somewhere for business and I don't want you to leave while I'm gone." He said.

"Okay. Goodnight dad!"

"Goodnight"
