I uncomfortably shift my gaze away from the angry figure standing in front of me to the dull, grey walls of the room.

I drum my fingers on the cold metal table, awaiting the tirade that is sure to come.

"You must have learned nothing at that damn school!" my father grumbles. "Honestly, do you think before you act?"

I look up at him, silent, as he waits for an answer. His entire face red and strained.

"Dad, I don't know what you want me to say," I shrug, pissing him off even more. "I didn't mean to attack her--"

"Well, you did!"

"I know," I held my head in shame. "I wasn't thinking straight," I mumble.

With a stressful sigh, he sits down in the chair opposite of me. "Their alpha is not happy about this, that's for sure. I'm worried he might reconsider the alliance."

"All because of a minor attack?" I ask incredulously.

"Minor?" he shouts. "The girl is unconscious in the hospital! Nothing about that attack was minor."

"You need to apologize," he tells me. "And I know you aren't sorry but you'd better sound like it."

If anyone should be apologizing it's my mate. He shouldn't have put her in a position to get her ass beat.

"You're making me reconsider your initiation," he gives me a pointed look.

"What?" my heart drops. "Dad, no. That isn't necessary."

"It very well may be. Attacking someone because you get into an argument is ludicrous and certainly not how an alpha should behave."

"But--"

"Be quiet!" he hushes. "You need to sit here and think about what you're going to tell the alpha when he comes. Make your apology sound real. Do you understand me?"

"Yes, dad," I mumble.

My dad hardly gets angry with me or anyone. He's making me feel very shitty right now for disappointing him.

I couldn't help what I did to that girl. Seeing her with my mate after what had just transpired between us made me snap. My wolf didn't take over, my emotions did.

Two long hours later, the Dainewulfs alpha came in.

"You have made quite the impression," he starts, taking a seat. "Is there anything you'd like to say about what you've done?"

"I want to apologize," I nod. "My temper has never been easy to deal with and it got the best of me out there. I snapped on her and I was wrong, I should've had more control of myself. I'm sorry I hurt your pack member and I promise it won't happen again."

"Thank you," he gives me a respectful nod. "Your apology is appreciated. However, you've caused a great, annoying ruckus with her family," he let out a stressful sigh.

"Therefore, I will have to ask that you leave after giving them a formal apology."

"Seriously? I have to leave?"

"Your actions can't go without consequence Miss Kenner," he says sternly.

"Does this soil the alliance?" I ask.

"No," he answers. "Our people shouldn't pay the price for your mistake."

"You are free to go but the first trip you should make is to the hospital. I've already informed the family that you will be coming."
