It'd been two days since MC had moved into the area, apartment complex 23, 4th Floor. Her reason for moving being a big university she had been accepted into.
She stretched, and let out a sigh after unpacking her last moving box. Looking at the time she noted it was 10pm, though she didn't feel tired as she was still excited about the move. MC picked up her keys and stepped out of her apartment room.
It was a fairly new building, all the locks worked, no broken glass, doors, or elevators. Each apartment had it's own kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room. She noted the hardwood floors that covered the entire establishment as she stepped onto a nearby elevator.
When she stepped outside of the building, the cool summer air filled her lungs. Stepping down the cement stairs she decided to turn left at the bottom. From there it was a 10 minute walk past various shops, and businesses. Until she came across a park, infront of it a park bench.
The bench was painted red sometime ago, the paint had been weathered and some of it missing. A few feet away there was a street light, giving off a warm yellow glow. MC decided to sit on the bench for a bit, and noticed a few stars in the sky. She had lost count of the time and was suddenly snapped back into reality. Fear filled her, as she heard the small drag of a shoes, knowing someone was nearby her.
She turned her head to the street light, and on the otherside she saw the silhouette of a person. The figure now taking notice of being looked back at seemed startled. MC gripped the edge of the bench tightly and continued to look towards the light, "What do you want?" She tried to say in her most intimidating voice, though it came out stuttered, and filled with fear.
The figure stepped a little closer now visible in the street light. "Sorry" he spoke nervously "I wasn't expecting to see anyone else out here." MC felt some relief wash over her, she scanned the now visible man infront of her. Messy vermillion hair paired with never before seen gold eyes, gold eyes covered by striped red and yellow frames. He wore a rather comfy looking sweater that matched his glasses, but most importantly to MC he didn't look like a crazed lunatic.
The man pushed up his glasses while avoiding eye contact. MC trying to judge the man's character asked him, "what are you doing out here?" He seemed a little surprised at MC's calmness and replied, "Just going for a walk to clear my head." MC felt safe enough again and remembered to breath, taking his story as truth.
"Uhm, well, I didn't mean to bother you" he murmured, turning to leave. "Wait" MC said on impulse, he stopped and looked back at her curiously. MC curious as well but not thinking, took in what she'd just done and embarrassingly continued. "D-do you want, to sit?" She tapped the room on the bench beside her. Her cheeks flushed as she looked down to her shoes.
The man stepped over awkwardly and flopped down on the other side of the bench. MC looked up over at him, he was now staring at the sky. She looked up as well, it'd gotten much darker. There was a sea of stars twinkling in her eyes. A few minutes in a star shot across the sky. "Did you just see the st-" she stopped her excitement halfway, locking eyes with the man who had been staring at her for a while.
He realized a few moments too late he had been caught staring. "Sorry, sorry" he said quickly, while readjusting his glasses. "Didn't mean to stare." MC blushed a bit and looked back down to her shoes. "I-it's alright" she muttered, feeling a little embarrassed.
"What are you going to wish for?" He asked, trying to clear the awkward air. MC pondered for a moment then replied "how about an exciting adventure!" She smiled "I think it'd be a good change." The man fixed his glasses again "I guess, depending on the adventure" he mumbled.
MC looked over at him, pondering how to continue the conversation. "Do you walk this way often?" She asked. He seemed reluctant to reply, but did regardless. "Only sometimes, I always sit at this bench too."
MC looked at the old bench again, thinking about how many people might have sat there before. "It's a pretty old bench, but it's cute." She remarked, touching a bit of loose paint.
The man also looked at the bench, "cute" he muttered. Before MC could say anything else he glanced at his watch and stood. "I've gotta go now" he said, then started walking back in the direction he had come from. He waved a bit with one hand, Mc stood quickly "Wait!" She said loudly, "I don't even know your name!"
He turned and walked backwards, cupping his hand around his mouth, he yelled back. "SEVEN ZERO SEVEN DEFENDER OF JUSTICE☆!"
