Mitch's POV

"MITCH! HAVE YOU PACKED YET?"

"YES MOM I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR FIVE MINUTES!" I yelled down to my mother.

"THEN GET DOWN HERE! THE MOVING TRUCK IS HERE!" She replied. I grabbed my giant suitcase in one hand, and a smaller box of other stuff in my other and hopped down the stairs. Connor was sitting in the living room, channel surfing on the tv.

"Are you packed yet buddy?" I asked.

"I have a mother for that Mitch." He laughed.

"Sure fine." I replied, continuing out the door. Mom and dad were chatting, as they packed the van up with the suitcases.

"Here honey. Give me that. I'll pack it for you. Go and grab the rest of the boxes from your room and put them in the truck." Mom smiled. I put the box under my arm on the roof of the van, handed mom the suitcase, and went back upstairs. I stacked a few boxes on top of each other and carried them down the stairs. I carried them over to the truck and the moving guy looked at me with his grey eyes. He had grey stubble and smelled of tobacco and axe deodorant. I nodded to him and he nodded back. I put the pile of boxes on the back of the truck as he lit up another cigarette. I went back into the house and picked up the last few boxes.

I was about to walk out, when I stopped in the doorway. I put down the boxes, and turned around. I looked back at my old room. Without the furniture, you could see where I usually walked. I laughed to myself and walked over and looked out the window. I looked at the house next to us and giggled to myself at the crush I had on the girl next door when I was seven, the best friend I made when I was eleven, and the nice old lady that I talked to when I was eighteen- and the pedophile that lives there now. I smiled and turned around, picked up my boxes and closed my door. I went back downstairs and put my last boxes in the truck. I turned around and my mom was standing behind me. She smiled and hugged me.

"I know it's hard honey. But you'll like this place. I promise." She said to me. I let go and she nodded and turned towards the van. I went back inside into the kitchen, and grabbed myself a bottle of water. I went back out to the van and clambered in. Kyleigh was already sitting in the van, listening to music, and staring out the window. She was really unhappy about the move, but mum and dad kept assuring her that it would be nicer in the new house. She didn't seem to buy it though. I went over and sat next to her.

"Did mom or dad send you?" She snapped bitterly.

"Wha- n-no. I was just asking if you're ok?" I replied.

"Dandy." She snapped again. I patted her shoulder and she sighed.

"Why do we have to go?" She asked. "There's nothing wrong with this house."

"I dunno. Not the best idea ever I don't think, but think of all the guys there Ky!" I teased, winking. She shoved me and laughed.

"Oh shut up you." She said, blushing. I moved over into my own seat and buckled my seatbelt. I put my headphones in and gulped a mouthful of water. Connor got in just before mom and dad did.

"You guys ready?!" Dad yelled to us happily. Connor and I said yes, but Kyleigh didn't say anything.

"Great!" He exclaimed, before starting the van, and beginning the long drive to our new home.

Later

We drove for hours and hours before finally turning into the driveway of a big, blue house.
"Welcome home!" Dad called from the front seat, waking Connor and Kyleigh up with a start. Connor yawned and stretched. Kyleigh just humphed and went back to sleep.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"Uhhh... Three o'clock." Mom replied to me, unbuckling her seatbelt. Dad and Connor did the same, and I soon followed. Kyleigh sat sleeping in the car. Mom unlocked the door and stepped in. There was a flight of stairs to the right of the hallway that wrapped around a corner, and rooms either side of them. To the right, it moved into the kitchen and dining room and to the left, it went into the living room. Outside was a huge yard, with a rocky pool. It was a truly grand house.
"Isn't it lovely?!" Mom enthused.
"Wow!" Connor said as he saw the pool.
I walked up to my room and opened my door. The place was completely spotless. I wonder how long that will last. I went back out to the van and grabbed my bag. I took it back up to my room and sat it on my bed. I decided to go for a look around. I walked up and down the hall, down the stairs, looked around the kitchen and bathrooms before the moving truck got here. I went back outside and piled up a few of my boxes. By now, Kyleigh was leaning on the door of the van, looking down at her phone. I carried the boxes into my room and put them on my floor. I saw Connor race past the doorway and heard him scream "THIS IS MY ROOM!"
I laughed to myself and opened the first box. It was full of clothes. I opened the closet and started putting them away. Nothing too exciting. Just shorts, shirt, shorts, shoes. The next box I opened and started putting away too. And so on and so forth.
