Sasha's P.O.V

I hum lightly to the that music blasts through my earphones.  I'm currently unpacking my things into my new room.Me and my mom moved from Ohio to California, for a fresh start really. I couldn't stay any longer at my old school, due to a lot of things that happened, I'll admit that I wasn't exactly in the perfect environment. I'd prefer not to think about it. She's also gotten a job transfer here, and thought it would be better for me as well. I'm honestly kind of liking it here already, the weather is beautiful and so is the scenery, not to mention the really beautiful house my mom managed to get us.

I continue to unpack my things, until my mom calls my phone. She went to return the Uhaul truck that we borrowed whilst moving in. I tap the green answer button.

"Come outside and help me with the groceries, honey." She says abruptly, before ending the call. I groan loudly. She always calls me out to get the groceries even when there's hardly anything to carry, she could easily bring them in herself. I won't complain though, seeing as I should be grateful for even being given food and such a lovely house to live in.

I trudge downstairs and out the front door to help loading the groceries. I load them all in by myself, even though my mom asked me to 'help' with them. She did not contribute at all whatsoever.

She informs me that she's making salmon and coconut rice with veggies for dinner and I nod, as I walk back up the stairs to my room. I collapse on my bed, deciding to just finish unpacking tomorrow. Tomorrow is my first day at my new school, ReinHart High school. From what I've seen online it's a very prestigious school, with excellent teachers, and disciplinary staff. I hope I make some friends, ones that aren't terrible influences, or ones that don't come to school smelling like weed, and constantly smoke it every free period. Yup..didn't have a very good reputation at the last school I'd been to. Hopefully things change here.

"Dinner!"

Mom calls from the kitchen. I come down to see a tray of piping hot salmon and a large bowl of coconut rice, stir fried with veggies. I set the plates and silverware, scooping some rice and slicing some salmon onto my plate.

Mom and I make small talk whilst we eat.

"Have you unpacked all of your things?" She asks, as she chews her salmon slowly. My mom told my to unpack all my things tonight, and I'd decided to finish tomorrow.

I shake my head in response. She opens her mouth to lecture me but, I quickly rebuttal.

"I'm going to finish unpacking tomorrow, my back is kind of sore from heaving boxes, and I wanted to get a good night's sleep before school tomorrow." I say as I look down at my salmon.

She hums in response. "Alright."

After dinner, I head to my room and think a little bit about how my life will play out. I head to have a shower, after relishing in my unwanted thoughts.

After my shower I turn off my light and begin my journey to dreamland.

I've been tossing and turning for hours but can't seem to fall asleep. I just have all these thoughts about school and just...everything. Does that only happen to me? I can't stop thinking about something when it comes time to go to bed, which is why I never usually get enough sleep. I do eventually, I feel myself slowly drifting off, the thoughts of school completely fading.

Hope the first chapter is alright,  it's short but bear with me. I've come through a loooong way of trial and error when it comes to writing. I don't know how people do it so expertly. Completely spill their emotions, just wandering through their head, onto the pages, making an effortlessly beautiful creation: a good book. Please vote and comment. <3
