Strutting down the long, dreary corridors of this part of the Pack House, Shiu couldn't get to Andy's floor fast enough. She tried to avoid coming to Andy's side but when she didn't have a choice, the journey gave her the creeps. There was no lightsource but the dim bulbs, huge paintings of dead old men lined the walls and there was no air circulation whatsoever making it smell stale.

Shuddering, at the chill that seeped into her body Shiu ran the rest of the way.

With a long sigh she reached the huge wooden door. 'Luna Alexandria' was embossed on a silver plate in simple calligraphy. The heavy oakwood doors opened on their own after Shiu put in the code. They were heavy duty, bulletproof secure doors for emergencies. Shiu walked through the short corridor decorated with pictures from a time when both their parents were alive. The place was exactly as it was the last time she was there, squeaky clean.

The living room was constructed in a way that it could house about a hundred people either for a party or for a war room. This wing of the pack house aka the Mansion was the most secure part of it. There was a square of couches and carpets made two stairs below the ground level of the room. They had always loved playing there as children while their parents had planned the Pack's future in the baithak part just above the pit.

On the left was the open kitchen with it's white cabinets and black marble breakfast table. On the table was the Pack's local newspaper and a mug that must've held coffee a few hours ago. As she walked further, Shiu could see the sun setting between the hills. The balcony held a breathtaking view of the entire North side of the Village(that's what they called Pack territory).

She stood there a moment, taking in the running children and scattered soldiers. Shiu was always distracted by this view, it had gotten her caught many times during run and catch. With a heavy sigh, she moved to the stairs on the right side. The bad news had to be delivered, who better than the Beta herself to deliver it right?

On the first floor were several doors opening to one corridor and Shiu knew exactly where each one would take her. She went to the first door on the right and walked in without bothering to knock. As the door opened, notes of Summertime Sadness hit Shiu and the sight of her Luna dressed in a pair of shorts and loose tshirt greeted her. Andy turned about in the middle of swinging her hands around, eyes wide with indignation.

"The fuck Shiu?! You scared the shit out of me."

"Sorry about that, fren. Though, the question is why was I not invited to this crazaayy partayyy, hm?" Shiu smirked at Andy, almost forgetting why she was there.

"Wanted some me time, we're together all the fucking time and I needed a break from you. Which reminds me, why are you here?"

Shiu pouted at Andy but then straightened with the weight of her news.
"I have bad news. Alpha Ralph called. He thinks they might get attacked soon. Ralph has asked for reinforcements."

"Oh shit. When was this?"

"About fifteen minutes ago, you weren't picking up your phone and I couldn't reach you on the mind link either."

"Bad timing at its best. Fuck you, Ralph. Call an emergency meeting with the Chiefs and advisors. I want all the border guards to report to me, right now. Ralph is not far away, we need to be careful too."

"I'll call the meeting in the conference room of the west wing? And what should I tell Ralph?"

"Yes, the biggest conference room we have. It's gonna be a big gathering, if Ralph is asking for help it has to be a considerable threat. I'll deal with Ralph myself, thank you."

With that said, Shiu squeezed her best friend's shoulder before leaving her to get her shit together. The moment Shiu was out of sight, Alexandria rushed to her phone and saw 12 missed calls. With a long sigh, she walked to her room across the corridor and found her combat top, bottoms and shoes in her expansive closet. She had a job to do and people to take care of. The first call went to Ralph and after several unsuccessful attempts at trying to reach him, she knew something wasn't right. The feeling of dread in the pit of her stomach intensified with every unanswered ring.
