Your first day at a new school was never going to be fun. However when it is also your first time in the country and it's half way through third term. Well you are kind of screwed.
Dylan Anderson hadn't exactly moved from the middle of nowhere, he was only from Auckland, but his accent was thick enough to be noticeable in Melbourne.
His dark Maori features stuck out in a sea of blondes with coloured eyes. Everyone looked like they permanently lived at the beach, even though they were coming out of winter.
All his life, Dylan had fit in fine with the New Zealand teenagers back home. He was pretty popular, had his share of girlfriends and did alright at school.
But here, 2624kms away from everything that he knew, he didn't have anything.
