My mom and I were arguing about how my grades were.

"A C in Math?!"

"Mom, I'm not going to get an A in every class," he grumbled, "All the other classes I have either an A or a B. You always say 'Try your best' and I am trying my best!"

"Well, guess what? It's not good enough," his mother exclaimed.

James threw his hands up in frustration and began to walk away when his mom grabbed his arm and spun him around to face her.

"Don't walk away from me, a young man," James's mother chastised.

"Let go of me."She glared at him and let go.

"If you ever take that tone of voice with me again, I will beat you."

"Whatever mom," James rebutted.

She then slapped him straight across the face and proceeded to beat him beating him.

"DON'T EVER MAKE THAT TONE OF VOICE WITH ME AGAIN! YOU HEAR ME, YOUNG MAN? I AM YOUR MOTHER AND YOU WILL LISTEN TO ME!"

The second his mom stopped to take a breath he shot up and dashed up the stairs. Once he got into the hallway, he ran into the bathroom and locked the door.

"GET BACK HERE YOUNG MAN!"

He could hear his mother's footsteps as she walked up to the wooden stairs. He went into the bathtub and took his phone out of his pocket and dialed 911.

His mom began knocking on the door and saying, "Oh come on James let me in. Let's talk about this."

"911 what is your emergency?" A women voice spoke through the phone.

"Yes... please help me my mom and I were fighting and she began to beat me. Once she stopped to take a breath I dashed for the bathroom and locked the door, but now she is trying to get me to open the door."

The knocking stopped, and there was complete silence for a second, but then his mom began to bang on the door.

James began to cry. "Please just help me!"

"Calm down. Just breath." The women said reassuringly.

"Now tell me what is your name?"

Between sobs, James said, "My... my name is James."

"Alright James. Now tell me has this event happened before?"

"Yes, it has but she has never beat me before." James paused as his mom began to scream through the door.

"IM GONNA GET YOU! YOU BLOODY MOTHER FUC*ER!"

"PLEASE JUST HELP ME!" James yelled at the woman on the phone.

Then, the banging and the screaming stopped as he heard his mom dash down the stairs, and open the front door.

"I think she is running away, or she is grabbing something from the garage to break down the door."

"Alright James, what is your address?" The women asked.

"1667 291st, Sioux City IA." He replied

"Ok James, the police are on their way."

"Please hurry..."

"Just stay on the phone and talk to me. I'm here for you."

                                                                                     5 minutes later

"James are you still there? The police are close."

"Yea I'm here, but it's so quiet."Then, he heard someone open the front door and run up the stairs.

"I think the police are here." James began to calm down.

"James, the police aren't there yet, they are still about 3 minutes away."

James' face went pale. Just then an ax came through the door. James screamed.

 "James! James! Are you alright?!"

 "HELP, SHE HAS AN AXE!"

James' heart was beating so fast he thought it was going to explode. The ax came through the door again and this time a piece of wood flung out of the door. James screamed again. Then, an idea popped into his head. "

Stay on the phone, I'm going to do something."

"James! No, stay where you are! James? James?!"

James faced the mirror and punched it, and the glass shattered. He grabbed the biggest piece of glass he could find. His mom swung the ax again and this time he could see her face.

"COME HERE JAMES!"

His mom reached through the hole in the door and tried to grab him, but James backed away. Then, James got in a defensive position and held the glass tight in his hand.

His mom reached through the hole in the door and grabbed the doorknob and began to turn it, but James slashed her hand with the piece of glass. She quickly took her hand back and screamed.

"YOU FUC*ER! IM GOING TO GET YOU JAMES REB!" She swung the ax over and over again. At about the fifth time someone ran through the front door.
