A/N: This takes place after Ep. 230 so there will be some spoilers. Takes place at their school on the day after. Yes, I will be using their English names because that how I was introduced to them.
Daniel sat in his chair, thinking about the events of the day before. He could've died if Jay hadn't been there. Both him and Zack would probably have died if Jay hadn't shown up. Daniel still had a hard time thinking about how fast Jay had to have been going in order to catch him at that exact second. He shook the thoughts out of his head and let his hand rest on his face where Jay had placed a band-aid. He let out a small sigh as he half-listened to the lecture. How much longer would this last? He wondered, letting his thoughts once again float to the mysterious blond who he knew as his friend. Daniel was still lost in thought as the bell rang, rubbing his thumb over the band-aid. Jay looked at Daniel, watching as everyone exited the classroom but him. He wondered what had caused Daniel not to leave like he normally would for lunch. It took Jay seconds to notice that Daniel was rubbing his fingers over the band-aid. Did his cut hurt? Was it infected? Did it need serious medical attention? It looked somewhat deep when Jay had put the band-aid on yesterday and the band-aid was already starting to fall off because of how much Daniel was touching it. Jay walked over to Daniel's desk, salve and band-aid in hand.
"Oh! Hi, Jay!" Daniel said smiling up at Jay, snapping out of his daydream. Jay offered him a small smile back and pointed to his bandaid.
"You want to put another band-aid on? Why? Oh, because it's falling off and it needs healing ointment?" Jay nodded along as Daniel interpreted what he meant to say. Without asking, or even pointing, Jay gently removed the loosened band-aid from Daniel's face. Daniel winced slightly at the small pain. Jay frowned at the cut, angry at those who caused it. He didn't even care his expensive motorcycle was stolen. That could easily be replaced, but not Daniel. He bit his tongue slightly, ashamed of his cowardice. Jay was very aware that he was in the closet. Why couldn't he just tell Daniel how he felt? He knew the LGBTQ+ community wasn't very large at his school but he was mostly terrified of Daniel being repulsed. What if he was homophobic? A lot of people at his school weren't so accepting. No, he was too nice for that. Was he? What if Daniel became disgusted with him? What if Daniel already liked his sister? In his head, he cursed his sister's beauty. He had seen them shopping at the mall together like an ideal couple. What if, what if, what if...
Snapping out of his thoughts, Jay put a small amount of ointment on the band-aid before gently putting it on Daniel's face. He let his hands linger on Daniel's face for a little longer than acceptable before quickly letting them fall to his sides.
"Thanks, Jay," he said standing up. He gave an absolutely dazzling smile to Jay. Say something, you coward. A small voice in Jay's head said to him. Now or never. Now or never.
"Oh, you have something you want to tell me, Jay," Daniel said watching as Jay tried to use hand motions and nods to tell him what he wanted to say.
"I'm sorry, Jay. I don't think I know what you mean," Daniel said, confused. For the first time, Daniel was completely unsure of what Jay wanted to tell him. He hadn't realized how close Jay was to him until he felt his soft breath on his cheek. Before Daniel could make any other comments, he could feel the blond gently press his lips against his own. His heartbeat accelerated to a pace that couldn't be healthy and the moment was over to soon. Daniel couldn't move, frozen with shock and happiness.
"Oh," Daniel said softly. Jay took one look at Daniel's face and was overcome with panic. Jay couldn't read him at all, he looked shocked. Small tears threatened to spill on to his face. For the first time, he was happy Daniel couldn't see his eyes. When Daniel didn't respond, Jay read the word 'rejection' over and over on Daniel's face. Maybe it was disgust too. What did he expect? Jay quickly grabbed his backpack and headed out of the classroom as quickly as possible. He want-needed a cigarette. He hadn't smoked in ages but it was the only thing he could find that would calm him. Daniel watched as Jay exited the classroom.
"Jay!" he called, "Shit!" why did his face show the only emotions he didn't feel? When did his absolutely dazzled face need to show shock rather than happiness? He raced out of the classroom, trying to catch where Jay had run off to.
"Jay!" he called out for a second time. Then, as if it was a miracle, he finally found a familiar blond head rushing through the crowd.
"Hi, Daniel!" Zoe said happily, latching her arm around his own.
"Sorry," he said, knocking her arm off of his, quickly trying to reach Jay. The crowd swarmed him as if they were trying to stop him from reaching Jay. He finally caught a hold of Jay's arm. Jay turned around, trying to see who dared to grab his arm while he was obviously trying to leave. Daniel could see the sadness through Jay's long bangs that covered his eyes. Jay didn't want this. He mentally prepared himself for the worse. To be ridiculed but Daniel. He could almost hear Daniel laugh at him as he publicly announced to the crowd that Jay was gay. Instead, he could feel Daniel's hands wrap around his neck and his warm lips pressed to Jay's, a little rougher than intended. Jay stifled a gasp and the whole hall went quiet. Daniel noticed the almost instant silence as could feel eyes on him and Jay as they kissed.
"Oh. My. God!" A girl in the crowd shrieked. The words 'gay', 'Daniel', 'Jay', and 'bi' were whispered around the room and Daniel pulled back. A blush was prominent on his face. He hadn't meant to do that in front of everyone. Would Jay be angry with him? He looked at Jay, only to see what he thought his face probably looked like when Jay kissed him. Shocked, happy, and slightly dizzy. He saw a few kids exchange money. Were they betting on me being bi? Or Jay? Or us?
"I didn't know you were gay. Or bi. Whatever it is," said Mira.
"I-I'm bi," Daniel stuttered, perhaps bringing this realization on himself. Zack couldn't care less which gender Daniel liked as long as he didn't like Mira.
"Wait!" A loud voice pierced through the muttering, "is Piggy bi too?" Zoey asked desperately. Daniel thought for a moment.
"Yes," he said.
"So, you're bi?" Zack said pointing at Jay. Jay shook his head.
"Gay?" Zoey asked, surprised as everyone else. Part of the crowd has dissipated but their friends had stayed. A small smile was planted on Jay's face as he nodded. Vasco ran to Daniel, smile prominent on his face, Jace and Leonn Lee behind him.
"What happened? Where's the crowd?" Vasco exclaimed. Jay was sweating and blushing furiously. He wasn't used to being the direct center of attention. Before either Jay or Daniel could say anything, another voiced piped u.
"This one was pulled out of the closest," said Zack point to Jay, "and this one is bisexual," he said pointing to Daniel. Leonn Lee was smiling at both of them. Jay studied Leonn's face for a few seconds. His features were quite feminine, almost too feminine. Leonn put a hand on Daniel's shoulder.
"Congrats," he said.
"Uh, thanks," Daniel replied awkwardly. For the first time, in a very long time, Jay felt like he belonged somewhere. He wasn't sure of what his relationship with Daniel would be now, but he was happy with where it was going.
A/N: That wraps this one-shot up (should I make a part 2?). If you have any JayXDaniel Story ideas, tell me and I'll probably write it. Hope you enjoyed this and I hope to make more one-shots.
