I kept my head low as I ventured through the crowd; voices buzzing with excitement as seven banana colored school buses pulled up.  I tightened my bag, patiently waiting in line until I was able to step onto the already crowded bus.  Luckily, I was able to squeeze past a group of obnoxiously loud football players and find an empty seat.  I placed my bag beside me, lurching forward as the bus began to roll.

My whole senior class is going on some week long camping trip, up in the mountains where there's no phone service, and no WiFi.  I grimaced at the thought; bringing out my iPhone and enjoying the last few hours I had with it.  I must have fallen asleep, my bodily easily sliding off of the seat and onto the floor as we came to a stop.  "There's been a change of plans!" The bus driver hollered, turning on the over head lights.

Dozens of sleeping teenagers awoke, groaning at the flickering lights.  "Road is closed due to a mud slide, we're taking you back home" he continued.  I almost jumped up with joy.  I stood up and searched the heads in front of me, smiling lightly when I catch one of my best friends Zoe asleep with her head on her boyfriends chest.  Alfie caught my eye, sending me a curt nod as he wrapped his arm around Zoe.  I nodded back, sitting back in my seat and bringing out my phone yet again.

I groaned at the No Service in the top right corner, frowning when my message to my mom didn't go through.  I gave up with a sigh, turning my phone off and closing my eyes, deciding on trying to catch some more sleep before we got back home.  I was awoken once more, this time the bus drivers loud voice waking me up instead of the cold ground.  "We're back! Everyone up and out! Your suitcases have already been placed on the ground!"

We all shuffled out, some of us frowning and some of us barely awake.  I bit my lip as I looked around, frowning when I didn't spot my parents.  "Troye are your parents here? Mine aren't" a small voice rang. I turned to meet a tired looking Zoe.  I shook my head "Nope, and for some reason my messages to either of them won't go through" I continued, showing her the now green messages.

"Yeah I can't reach mine either"

"Neither can I"

"What the hell why won't my call go through"

Suddenly numerous people voiced their concern "Look maybe the storm knocked out the cell towers. Let's all go home and talk about this on Monday!" Alfie shouted.  The group nodded, everyone gathering their belongings and scurrying home before the rain started.  "Mom? Dad? I'm home!" I shouted, closing and locking the front door.  I huffed, trudging upstairs and to their bedroom.

I paused before entering, taking note of the cracked bedroom door "Mum?" I called, pushing open the door fully.  I furrowed my eyebrows; the bed was empty.  "What the hell" I mumbled, turning around "Sage?" I called, walking back down the quiet hallway.  I felt panicked as I opened her door, seeing her bed unmade and empty.  I brought out my phone, clicking on Zoe's name

To Zo Zo Bug: Hey is your family home?? Everyone here is gone, even the dog

From Zo Zo Bug: I was literally about to text you and ask you the same thing.  Amber texted me and said her fam is gone too.  Idk what's going on but all of our families seem to have gone somewhere

To Zo Zo Bug: What do we do?

From Zo Zo Bug: Well, maybe they got evacuated because of the storm??

To Zo Zo Bug: Yeah maybe, but don't you think the bus drivers would have said something?

From Zo Zo Bug: Well, they probably weren't able to get contacted because of the storm 🤷🏻‍♀️ it makes sense that everyone is gone.  Obviously the storm was so bad that it caused the road to close. So maybe it was so bad here that everyone had to leave.  I bet they will come home in a day or two and everything will go back to normal

To Zo Zo Bug: You're right, thanks Zo.  You always find a way to make me feel better 💛

From Zo Zo Bug: Anytime kiddo.  Did you hear that Jacob Bixenman is throwing a party? Seems he's taking advantage of having no parents at home.

To Zo Zo Bug: Bix? The rude af football player? I didn't know he was a party thrower.  I figured he only showed up to parties, not host them.

From Zo Zo Bug: Idk man but we should go! It'll give us something to do other than sit at home and worry.  Maybe we should all just relax and party the night away.  I heard there will be drinks and food!

To Zo Zo Bug: Idk... I don't rlly get along with those kinda people.  You know all of them, I don't. Plus, you know I don't really drink anymore 😕

From Zo Zo Bug: Come on Troye! I'll be there with you the whole time! And if you don't want to drink, then you don't have to.  No one is gonna judge you for staying sober and safe.  It'll be fun and maybe you can make some more friends

To Zo Zo Bug: Yeahhhhh I guess I'll go.  But only if I can come pick you up in my new Audi 😛

From Zo Zo Bug: Um duh? There's no way I would walk in the rain

To Zo Zo Bug: Oh so what am I? Your new Uber?

From Zo Zo Bug: Lmao it's not my fault my parents took my keys!

To Zo Zo Bug: Yes but, our parents aren't here rn, so why don't you go get them?? Don't you miss your convertible?

From Zo Zo Bug: Girl don't you think I already did?? I searched the whole damn house and couldn't find those stupid keys.

To Zo Zo Bug: Lmfao rip you.  Let me change into some more flattering clothes and attempt to tame my curls.  Pick you up in 45?

From Zo Zo Bug: See you then Troye Boy 😉💕
