My eyes flew open, light blinded me. I blinked multiple times, adjusting my eyes to the light. "Juliette, sweetie you're awake." My mother cried.

"Mom." I croaked.

"Oh, Baby we were so worried, we didn't know if you were going to wake up." My mother said, hugging me tightly.

Pain coursed through me and I clutched my stomach.  I looked around, realizing I was in the hospital. "Why am I here, what happened?" I asked.

My mom cocked her head to the side, "Y-you don't remember?" She asked, her voice laced with confusion.

"I-I don't, what-" my voice stopped, memories flooding my brain. The cabin, the woods, the man, the knife, all of it.

                          *FLASHBACK*

"I can't wait!" My best friend, Addi, squealed.

"I know, I'm so excited, I can't wait to get away from my parents." I said.

Addi's parents own a cabin out in the woods. Her parents and my parents both agreed that if we both get good grades this semester, they would let Addi and I go out to the cabin alone for spring break. We worked super hard and we did it. Tomorrow we leave for the cabin and I couldn't be happier.

It was a four hour drive to the cabin but when we finally got there I could barely contain my excitement. A whole week without my parents, just me and Addi. After we unpacked we went swimming in the big pool in the backyard. We layed out tanning and swam for hours. It got dark and we decided to go inside and make dinner. I opened the cabinet filled with canned food. I grabbed two cans of loaded baked potato soup and brought them to the stove. One of the cans had a post it note stuck to it. -Have fun- it said. My eyebrows furrowed.  Huh, Addi's mom must have stuck it there.  I cooked our soup and brought a bowl to Addi who was sitting on the living room couch watching TV. We were watching jeopardy when the power went out.

The lights flickered and came back on, along with the TV. It was static, black and white, fuzzy, static. I looked at Addi and raised an eyebrow. "It's probably just a bad connection." She said.

The TV flickered and a man's face popped up, grinning. He was standing in a completely white, padded room. It looked like a mental cell. Addi looked at me, I could tell she was frightened.

"It's okay we probably just switched channels or something." I said, grabbing the remote off of the coffee table. I flipped to another channel and SpongeBob SquarePants came on. "See I told you." I said, breathing out a sigh of relief.

Our luck was cut short when the static returned, filling the room with that annoying buzzing sound. I immediately turned off the TV, silencing the buzzing.

"Addi, maybe we should call your mom, she might know what to do." I said.

She nodded quickly and walked into the kitchen to grab the phone. I sat in the living room, staring at the TV.

Addi walked back in slowly. "Juliette." She said, quietly.

"Yeah?" I asked, turning to face her.

"It's not working." She said.

"What do you mean it's not working?  Give it to me." I said.

She gave me the phone and I held it up to my ear, silence. I tried pressing the buttons but nothing happened. I threw the phone on the couch.

"Why isn't the freaking phone working?!" I yelled. I'm starting to panic this isn't normal, what was with the creepy guy on the screen? "Maybe we should just go home." I said.
