Never trust anyone. Not your friends, not your family. Not even your fucking boss. 'Cause who knows what their intentions are, right?

If there was one thing that Taehyung would've never expected to be doing, it would be moving from the safety of Seoul, to the bustle of New York City at the age of 18.

The size of New York City wasn't the shocking part, nor was it the large amount of people. Taehyung had been aware of these things. Instead, it was the type of people. Although they were diverse, they weren't very friendly.

And no one spoke Korean.

Taehyung knew he was stupid for expecting some people in New York to be a fantastic translator for him, but he also had had a little hope that the language barrier wouldn't too scary.

It was terrifying.

Besides the language barrier, his apartment wasn't too great either. He couldn't get any sleep with the loudness of the city—all the people and cars were too damn annoying. And his apartment was in one of the complexes right around the corner from the core of the city, so it was also susceptible to gangs. Taehyung never felt safe.

On the contrary, he was able to find a well-enough job with the little bit of education he had (he graduated from high school and that was it). But he wasn't guaranteed the job, so if he didn't do well on his interview, he was screwed.

And that's why he was standing in front of a full-size mirror in his room at 20:00, blinking at his reflection as he held a suit up in front of him.

Is it too much? He wondered.

He sighed and put the suit back into his closet. He pulled out skinny jeans and a button-up silky top. This will have to do.

All of a sudden, Tae's phone rang loudly. He jumped, almost dropping the makeshift outfit he had in his hands. He stumbled over to his nightstand where his phone was resting. Snatching it, he glanced at the screen and sighed when he saw a familiar name. He pressed the answer button.

"Sehun? What's up?"

"Don't 'what's up' me. Jungkook told me you had an interview tomorrow and I want to know why you didn't fucking tell me." Tae sighed.

"Don't take this the wrong way, but I knew you'd fret over me so I decided I would tell you after the interview." There was a gasp on the other end of the phone.

"You bitch! Why would you make me wait that long? Let me guess, you told Baekhyunie too?"

"No, silly," Tae said with a light laugh. "He doesn't know. I didn't want to tell too many people because I was worried I'd disappoint you guys if I didn't get it."

"Taehyung-ah, why are you worried about disappointing us? It's your life and your goals." Taehyung sighed.

"It's embarrassing." Sehun laughed on the other end.

"I wouldn't worry about it. I think you'll do fine." Taehyung smiled. He knew that his best friend would make him feel better.

"Thank you."

"But you better tell me next time or I'm jumping through the phone to strangle your ass." Tae snorted.

"Okay, okay. Remind me to yell at Jungkook when he comes home later."

"I will."

"Okay bye, love you."

"Love you too."
