a/n: sorry for the late update, my data wasn't working and i was out of the house and i panicked and restarted my phone and i finally got my data working. so here it is, hope it was worth the wait :)

Rose's POV
~still six days left~

I ducked and covered my head. I was weaponless and clueless. This is a no weapon zone so why would there be gun shots?

Unless, there was an attack.

The shots seemed to stop as soon as they started and all I could hear was my heavy breathing. I heard shuffling and they seemed to get closer and closer to me. I squeezed my eyes shut in anticipation of what was going to happen--the barrel against the back of my head. Instead, I heard groaning and Ethan commanding his men to get 'him' into the cells.

I slowly looked up and what I saw elicited a gasp from me. It was an older man, probably in his late 50s or early 60s. He had his ski mask removed and a gun was quite a distance away. He was laying on the floor with a obvious bullet wounds in his arm and thigh.

Next to him was Ethan. He looked livid. He had a gun in his hand and he was facing the door where the guy, who was guarding the door, was listening intently to Ethan's commands.

It was safe to say that I was bewildered.

How did Ethan get out of his chair?

Probably because he's the future mafia don! He's most-likely trained for situations like this.

Where did he get the gun from?

He was probably sitting on it since I did a full round when I was 'questioning' him and found no weapons whatsoever. The questioning failed but wasn't guns prohibited in this room?

I had so many questions and Ethan could sense that. I watched his men pull the man that was on the floor out of the room. I heard Ethan exhale loudly before he turned around to look at me with his arms crossed.

He shook his head and answered my unvoiced question, "That, was your father."

"Come again?" I asked, thinking I heard wrong.

"He's your father. I don't know how he managed to enter the compound but he's going to the cells. That man you just saw, was the child organ trafficker," Ethan shrugged as if what he said wasn't a big deal.

I stayed in that crouched position, still in a state of shock. My...father was the culprit this whole time? He hacked into my trusted softwares to change some information that would have led me to possibly killing Ethan.

Meaning, he's out to get the Dolan Family. And somehow, this is all associated with me. It wasn't a random assassin that was supposed to kill the don, it was me. He knew of my relationship with Ethan. Has he been keeping tabs on me?

After all these years, he had the audacity to make an appearance in my life subsequent to his infidelity towards my mother.

What about Mr Dolan? Was this just a set up for them to capture him? Was Mr Dolan just playing along? Was there even a job offer in place or was this just a ploy to aid in the capture of my...father.

As Rose was connecting the dots, Ethan watched her with sorrow in his eyes. He wondered what was wrong with him. Was he an awful boyfriend on account of his inexperience in relationships? But he tried to give her everything she could possibly ask for.

He did, genuinely, love her. He loved how she ate without a care in the whole world. He loved their impromptu dates they'd go these past few weeks. He loved learning and memorising everything about her: from her soft brown hair, the slight wrinkle in her forehead when she's thinking really hard, her cute button nose, her smile lines when he makes her laugh, her soft skin that he has trouble resisting to touch all the time. He's loved every single thing about her.
