Do you remember that feeling, when the light would shine in through a window, refracting brightly onto a surface before you, and you'd feel warm inside? When the sun would be so brilliantly bright, and maybe it shone into your eyes like it was trying to infiltrate your mind, to erase the darkness from your thoughts and ease the sadness hidden in your irises? When small rainbows were cast onto tables and windows as though trying to tell you the endless rain had come to an end, even just for a little while? Ah, maybe you didn't feel that.

Do you remember when you'd feel the sudden desire to raise your arms, to dance, to shout, to sing? When you'd find that hopeful spark of happiness appearing after the smoke had clouded you for so long? Maybe you didn't feel that, either.

So do you remember being a child? How you'd wait for the sun to come out so you could play, so you could laugh? How you'd always want to look into the sun because it was so light, so interesting, and you'd be told not to, but when nobody was looking, you'd pretend you could touch it and feel so powerful? Maybe you didn't feel that, either, but maybe you did.

I believe that light is an integral factor in happiness, and not only visible light. It could be the light inside of a person that radiates out, the light manifested by the stars on the dimmest nights, the lights of candles in a power cut for someone afraid of the dark. Light lifts a person in ways they cannot imagine. Light is diverse, valuable, precious.

If you don't see the light anymore, why not? Why don't you look for it? Why don't you feel the desire to dance in summer anymore? To meet friends and go for drives as it fades so that you can capture and hold it within yourself? Light is beautiful. Light represents hope, joy. Look to the sunflowers, that shine golden up to the gods, symbols of love, strength, nourishment. Look to the golden halo around your head, angel. The light within you is stronger than anything else could ever wish to be- you just have to find it.

3; find the light around and inside of you, and you're one step closer to happiness.
