Little Memories
When I was little the world was kind
When I was young the world was too
And the stars shone brighter than they ever will now
Now that I’m older
Now that I’m older the world is terrifying
And strangers stalk my steps
A little girl’s trust replaced by fear
Now that I’m older, I wish I were young
I wish I were young and enjoyed all of life
Instead of viewing through jaded eyes
Dancing, laughter a distant dream
These long lost memories
I never forgot when I was little
