So we had just a fun summer this year. Couldn't do to much anyway.
And one day here comes Percy's step-brother. We didn't have the Fleece back quite yet. Just guard duty.
" You've been gone for 8 months!" I was in Percy's cabin when he showed up.
" Yeah, so?" Percy asked. " You guys know I'm here. I don't see the problem."
" Dude just come to an actual home for one day." Daniel told Percy. Who responded how I expected but Daniel didn't.
" This is an actual home." Percy told Daniel. " Maybe not to you. But for me it's so much better here then out there. Even if-"
Percy was cut off as a door bursting open with a Reyna at the door.
" Monster attack." Reyna told us. " Not small. Enemy I'm guessing sent it."
We both nodded out head once, signaling her to go, we knew what to do.
So Daniel can see through the Mist.
That didn't help to have a screaming madman in battle.
The battle lasted a few hours, not to long. And after I wanted to slap Percy's step-brother.
Thank gods Percy actually did slap him when he continued screaming his head off.
" You just...." He said, looking at Percy. " You just did.... I'm gonna be sick."
We got a bucket for him to throw up in and boy did he fill that thing up.
As he continued to throw up his guts Percy and myself walked into another room. So that way we wouldn't barf.
Then we start talking and I ask him about why it's so much better here.
Percy just shrugged.
" I don't like homework." He said.
" Home what now?" I asked him.
" In school." Percy said. " You get assignments on paper and you have to bring it home as do it and then turn it in the next day for a grade. If you get more than half wrong you fail the assignment. It sucks to do."
" How often is this homework?" I asked.
" Well you'd be a Softmore." Percy said. " So usually four times a week for most classes. which you have like seven classes."
" Not that bad." I said.
" School is 5/7 days of the week." Percy told me.
" Oh." I said and I had a feeling he was lying but for reason I ignored that.
We talked for like ten minute before returning to Daniel was finishing up returning his meals to the world outside of him.
Percy got him to lay down and the questions came. But first walked in his step-father, Bohdi.
So we'd both answer questions for then.
" What did I just see ten minutes ago?" Daniel asked.
" You walked into the middle of a battle." I told him.
" Neither of you are age eligible." Bohdi told is.
" Now that's bullshit."Percy said. " What are you talking about?"
Somebody started pounding on the door and we did answer to them. I didn't know them.
But Percy did.
They don't get along or what ever and as soon as thy see Percy snap their fingers and he was fighting memories and nightmares and himself.
With that they leave and confused so do Daniel and Bohdi. Just leaving him like that and I noticed something when his sweater fell off and he was wearing short sleeves.
His arms were cut up so bad. I thought mine were bad but his were a lot worse. Some were fresh and some weren't. Some were years old. Some weren't.
And it got so bad where I was afraid he'd do something if I left the room. For gods know how long he held a poker face. A strong one.
But everyone falls down sometimes.
This was when he fell.
Now seeing him like this hurt. And he told me he just wanted somebody like a friend who truth to honest just gave a shit about him. Who cared about him.
And decided why the hell not tell him then' He deserved to know if he was being put in that position.
" Percy." I said and he looked at me completely lost.
" What?" Percy asked me.
" You already have people that care." I old him.
" They're all dead, Nico." Percy told me. " I mean out of the living."
" You still do." I told him.
" And who is that?" The son of Poseidon asked me as he sat up.
I whispered it to him.
" Me, you idiot." I answered the question and lead to the kiss.
