Raven's POV
I take a step back shocked at my father's outburst. In my 17 years of life my father has only yelled at me once. He yelled at me when I ran off with a bunch of other kids to play hide and seek in a different part of the park. When he found me yelled saying he thought something bad had happened to me. Having him yell at me right now has to be the biggest shock ever.
When I don't answer my father decides to continue yelling.
"I don't like the idea of some random boy in my house alone with my daughter. He could have done something to you and no one would have known. For Christ sakes Raven everyone in town knows he's got some kind of gang thing going on. It's bad enough that I have to worry about the Wolfs doing something to you, but now I have to worry about him too!" I roll my eyes and shake my head.
I don't understand why my father immediately thinks that Harry is going to do something to me. I understand how Harry's looks can be a bit intimidating, but he's no harm to me. He's trying to protect me, but then again my father doesn't know about what's been going on.
"Dad just calm down everything is fine. Harry is just my friend and the reason he was here is because I asked him to help me pack. He's not gonna hurt me, okay." As I talk I take slow steps towards my dad hoping to calm him down.
When I'm standing in front of my dad I realize that he has tears in his eyes that he's trying to fight back. He sniffles before looking away from me.
"I'm sorry I overreacted. I'm just not use to you being by yourself. We always had James watching you when we weren't here." My dad steps forward and wraps his arms around me.
"I'm just so afraid that I'm gonna lose you just like I lost James. I don't think I can take losing both my children." He whispers as he rest his cheek on top of my head.
While I'm hugging my dad he kisses my forehead and wraps his arms around me a bit tighter. "I love you sweetie"
"I love you too dad." My dad pulls away first before taking a step back and giving me a small smile. He wipes his eyes before speaking.
"I bought that chicken alfredo from the Cheesecake Factory. I figured it would be a good way to end our last night here." I give me dad a small smile before nodding my head.
"How about we go eat then we can load our cars and leave?" I ask as I loop out arms together and guide him to the dinning room.
"I have movers coming soon so they are gonna put the boxes in the truck and take them to the house. We can just enjoy our dinner, grab whatever is left in our rooms and head to our new home." My dad smiles at me before going into the kitchen.
I take a seat at the table and wait for my dad to return with the food. As I'm sitting at the table I start to think about all the years that me and my parents have spent in this house. I've been here for as long as I can remember and to just pack up everything and leave is a bit astonishing. This whole situation is astonishing.
I'm so lost in my own thoughts that I don't even notice when my dad walks into the room and sets a plate of food in front of me until I hear the plate hit the table.
I look up to see my father smiling down at me.
"What were you thinking about?" He asks me as he takes a seat across from me.
"All of the memories that we are leaving behind. I guess I'm still in shock about the whole divorce. I never expected this to happen." I look at my plate and twirl my fork around in my pasta before finally bringing a fork full of pasta into my mouth.
"Never did I sweetie, but things happen for a reason and we have to learn to cope with what is being thrown at us." He reaches across the table and puts his hand on mine and gives it a slight squeeze.
