Welcome to my mind

Everyone is a little depressed these days, I feel. You notice it in blank stares or the monotone voices, even the nonmotivational way people do their daily life. People look for connections, emotional stimulants, physical stimulant, anything to prove to themselves that they are alive.

Some of us try to find something worth living for. Maybe because we're too scared to end it all, but maybe it's because we're scared of the people we might hurt if we ended it all.....Suicide is pretty fucking selfish if we're being honest. Think of all the Robin Williams movies and jokes we've missed out on. Now I have to try to think of what he would say if he was still here.

Basically, life just sucks and we're trying to find something to distract us from the massive suckage. Even that sucks. We read books, play video games, and even hook up just to distract ourselves from reality. I should know. I do it all the time. Reading books, that is.

At 15 I started feeling like I was in a black hole. Of course, my family doesn't believe that anyone could be depressed when there are so many people in someone's life, but I'm pretty sure feeling lonely in a crowded room is entirely possible. Or being grateful for what you have, but feeling empty despite it all? That's entirely possible. Now it could be caused by the overwhelming sense of life that is thrust upon us once we reach our teenage years.

"What do you want to be when you grow up?"

"How many kids do you want to have?"

"Do you have your eye on anyone special?"

"What college are you going to?"

The list goes on, and I'm sure you have your own to add. Young girls barely in an A-cup bra and are being talked to about marriage. That's a bit extreme right? Boys being told to live up to jobs like being President or becoming a CEO. Kids being told to have kids one day, not now, but also don't wait too long. It's a lot of pressure on anyone at any age.

Yet they wonder why teens are depressed. "It's all in your head" I agree. What a scary place my mind is right now.
