it was last summer that anna seavey had been ripped from the world, her body found lifeless and mangled in the forest behind the seavey manor.
and louis smith still hadn't gotten over the girl, truly, he never would.
~
lui had his hands stuffed in his pockets, his body covered from head to toe in clothing so that no one would see the bruises that lined his body. he glanced at the seavey manor as he passed it, he paused for a moment, watching the boys run around inside. he hated seeing the place now, whenever he did, all he saw was anna.
anna on the porch, smiling brightly.
anna kissing him in the lawn.
anna telling him that she was pregnant in her room.
lui sniffled, glancing at the forest. he would have walked away almost immediately after that, but he seemed to be going crazy. he had seen the short blonde, he knew he had. he had seen her wave and walk away, thinking he hadn't seen her. and no matter how crazy this seemed to lui, he rushed towards the woods.
he ran past the trees, wincing at the pain in his legs as he ran. he paused, looking over at the lake. and there she sat, her blonde hair falling perfectly over her shoulders.
it made lui want to sob.
lui slowly walked over, his mouth gaping open as anna looked up with a sad smile. "you found me."
lui collapsed, anna catching him almost immediately. "hey-" she whispered, her eyes wide.
tears were streaming down lui's cheeks, holding onto anna like she was giving him life. "y-you're h-here-" he stuttered out, trying to wipe his tears so that he could get a good look at the girl. "y-you're h-here- a-anna, p-please-"
anna smiled sadly, wiping the tears from his cheeks and kissing where they had left stains. "it's okay, lui." she whispered, running a hand through his hair.
"i w-wanna be here- w-with you-" lui whimpered, looking up at her.
anna shook her head quickly, her eyes wide. "nono, lui, you don't want that."
"i want you b-back, anna, p-please." lui whispered, his voice cracking slightly as he held onto anna.
anna closed her eyes, nodding softly. "it's alright, lui, i promise it is. it's alright, you're okay."
"i d-don't wanna be h-here anymore." lui whispered, anna biting her lip.
"don't say that, baby-"
"i don't! l-lizzie's off w-with her n-new baby a-and her h-husband, a-and o-oli's always o-out with fr-friends, c-cassie never c-comes home, a-and dad get-gets made so e-easily a-anna, s-so easily." he whimpered, hiding in her.
anna shook her head, "it's alright, it's okay-"
"'s not! 's not, a-and it h-hurts, a-and i w-want yo-you to c-come h-home, a-and i wa-wanna m-meet our b-baby, a-and-" he sniffled, wiping at his eyes hopelessly.
anna sighed softly, rocking him quietly.
lui's eyes slowly closed, wrapping his arms around anna tightly. "c-can i s-stay for t-tonight, anna?" lui whispered, "p-pretty please, i-i'll be nice a-and quiet, i p-promise."
anna nodded softly, "as long as your dad doesn't get upset, baby."
lui bit his lip, staring up at her. "h-he won't." lui whispered, the lie slipping through his teeth hesitantly.
anna noticed the lie, sighing softly and nodding. she just continued to rock them, running her hand through lui's hair until he relaxed against her, drifted off into a peaceful sleep.
she looked down at him, smiling softly and kissing his forehead. "no more tears for me, baby, no more." she whispered. she knew she couldn't tell lui this when he was awake, or else he'd get insecure, or more upset, or angry, there was really no telling anymore.
especially not when the unmentioned suitor he had been assigned was part of the reason for those bruises.
