Rose's Pov
After my uncle trying to kill me dad arrived and explained everything before threatening him if he ever hurt me again. Once Klaus found out I was his niece although he wouldn't say it I could sense he cared for me. I also met Hayley who's pregnant with Uncle Klaus's kid. So at least I won't be the only Mikaelson miracle kid.
I sat on my bed slowly figuring out how to use an iPhone and adjusting to the year I'm in. As I set up an email address and an account on basically every popular social media site I heard a light knock at my door. It was my dad holding a book.
"Sorry to interrupt you, but I thought this would be of some use to you," He said as he walked over and sat the book on my bed "It was my mother grimoire"
I looked at it running my fingers over the cover.
"I thought you said I shouldn't touch it. I haven't used my powers in so long that I can barely break a barrier spell" I said sadly
"Rose look at me," He said softly.
I sighed doing as he asked and looked at him
"It's not your fault. You just need to get reacquainted with your magic. Then you'll be back to your full strength. And there are some fairly basic spells inside try those first" He said reassuringly
I smiled and hugged him lightly
"Thanks, Dad," I said as he rubbed my back
"You're welcome," He said kissing my forehead "Now I have some French Quarter business to attend to since your Uncle seems incapable of doing so himself"
"Can I come?" I asked hopefully "I've been in the house for days and I'm getting kind of restless. I did just get out of a tomb"
He sighed giving my shoulder a slight squeeze as he looked at me with sorry eyes.
"Jacqueline you know I do not wish to keep you locked up like this, but it is for your safety" He explained using my full name made me understand that he was serious.
I sighed putting my hands in my jacket pockets
"Can I at least go to the bayou with Hayley?" I asked desperately although I was sure of the answer already
"I'm sorry Jacqueline but You are not allowed to leave the compound," He said sternly and I sat back on my bed
"Fine. I'll just be sitting here. By myself. Reading this book" I said in fake happiness although it was laced with sarcasm
" Jacqueline," He said in an attempt to have me look at him, but I ignored him looking at the first page of the grimoire "Jacqueline," He said again although this time he raised his voice a little
I continued to ignore him getting more into the spells in the book by the minute. After a moment he left without another word and I sighed angrily slamming the book closed and putting a pillow over my face screaming.
I can't believe he grounded me!
