'A sound of something breaking'

Jungkook's POV

"JUNGKOOK GET DOWN HERE NOW!"

Bolting upright in my bed, my eyes blurred due to the sudden awakening from my mother's shrill screaming. My head hurt and my eyes were heavy from being up all night. Perhaps staying up till 4am wasn't the best idea, but totally worth it. The painting turned out amazing. I could see it on the easel across from my bed near the window, the light highlighting every stroke and texture that sat on the canvas.

"JUNGKOOK!"

Rolling my eyes, I looked over at my clock, noticing that I was definitely gonna be late. Oh well, no need to rush if I'm not gonna make it on time anyway. Although, if I stayed in my room any longer, mum would definitely come drag me down the stairs.

Deciding getting up was the best option, I threw the covers off, dragging my legs off the edge of the bed and plopping my slippers on. The house was cold as usual, the wooden floors becoming ice as soon as you stepped on them. My room was the worst since it was an attic conversion. It was supposed to be warmer since it was newer but since my parents didn't have the money to completely convert it into a bedroom, it remained cold and not as insulated as the rest of the house. But it was a calming room, allowing me to escape from the hectic world that I lived in.

Opening my door, I waited for my mother to shout again so that I could shout that I was awake before returning into my room to grab some clothes for today

Opening my door, I waited for my mother to shout again so that I could shout that I was awake before returning into my room to grab some clothes for today. It was late spring at the moment so the sun was starting to show itself more and more each day but it was still accompanied by the crisp breeze that made you tremble. Of course, this made outfits a hard task. The awful feeling of being cold in the morning and then boiling in the afternoon becoming far too common recently.

Grabbing a pair of dungarees and a thin striped jumper, I made my way to the shower on the floor below, hurrying so I could return to the sweet escape that was my room as quick as possible before making my way downstairs.

The hot water was a welcomed change to the cold temperature that filled the house, but I couldn't bask in it for long. I could already feel my mother getting ready to shout me downstairs once again, wanting me to be on my way to college as soon as possible. I guess that's just how Mother's are when they have shy 17 year old sons that would rather stay in and paint all day than go to get an education.

Finishing washing up as quickly as I could, I turned the shower off, already missing the warm embrace of the steaming streams that ran down my body. Brushing my teeth and combing my hair slightly, I got dressed before running up to my room to grab my bag.
I could hear my parents mumbling as I came stumbling down the stairs. The house was pretty small so it wasn't hard to hear people's conversations. I could tell they were annoyed that I was late again but they'd get over it, they always did.
