Hajara's POV

I stared back at him as he said "As a sister "
I felt my heart crush. But nevertheless, I appreciated that he thought about me.

"can we go back home now? " I asked

"Yh " he replied as he put the car on reverse.
The ride back home wasn't an interesting one. Even the radio which was to keep us company seemed to be in a bad mood. Apparently, a musician had passed on so all the radio stations he switched to only talked about that.

I wasn't comfortable and I realized he kept on stealing glances at me. I kept on biting my nails and twisting my fingers to get rid of the anxiety and pain that was building up in my heart.

Turning to face the window, I watched with little interest as we passed by different shops and building. At some point, it was just bush with a few petrol stations and fast foods scarted here and there.I realized that a cloud was forming and sooner or later it was going to rain.

I feared the rains more than anything. For it brought back bad memories most at times. I was rheumatic and a cold weather meant being indoors the whole day and wearing protective clothing.

Mr Hakeem seemed to notice the weather and increased his speed. Our surroundings became farmiliar and I knew we were almost home.

"Where the hell did the little witch take you? " Hajia screamed as we entered the house.

"Hakeem, you're engaged and you have no right wandering about with this little devil" she shouted once again.

"mind your language Hajia "Mr Hakeem replied her.
"Most especially with Hajara I will prefer it if you would kindly go back home and mind your business or better still just leave us alone! As you can see, a storm is building up and going back home looks like the best option right now" Mr Hakeem added much to my amazement.

Hajia watched him with awe I guess, she wasn't expecting that from him.

"What did you do to him witch? " she turned to me.

"What did I say right now? I told you to leave her! She's my guest not yours! Even Sumanya will have to like her if she wants to marry me so better accept that please. "
And just like that Mr Hakeem dragged me away from her. The second time doing that today!

Wedding! Wedding! Wedding!

That's was all I heard when I turned left or right.
Just a week more and Mr Hakeem will be a husband.
I called my grandma today and Alhamdulilah she was doing OK.

Today, we were cleaning the house. I thought since we were having the wedding in the USA people weren't going to come. Lo and behold, I was very wrong! The house as at today was almost full. Cousins, aunts, nieces, nephews infact almost the whole family was here.

No one seemed to notice I was an outsider for the crowd was huge. Breakfast was always noisy lunch was worst and for supper, lol it was a sight to behold!

Almost everyone had something to say. Mom seemed to be enjoying everything for as early as 4:00am she was up and only retired to bed after ten. She was always smiling and even managed to apply make up each and everyday.

I was mopping the floor in the hall as I listened to Maher Zain's number one for me.
Someone tapped me from behind andci turned to see Mr Hakeem.

"Can you serve me some food? There are a lot of women in the kitchen and I can't go there he pleaded.

"OK let me just finish with this. "
He thanked me as he made his way up the stairs. Since, the incident with Hajia, he seemed to always be in my way and always pretended it was coincidental.

I rushed to the kitchen once I was done to get some food for him. Took a flask and filled it with rice on the upper part and chicken stew on the lower compartment. I picked a plate and juice for him as I made my way to his room.

Once I got inside, I served him his food and turned my back to leave.

"Hajara! " he called back. I stood rooted on the ground waiting for him to say what he wanted.
"please stay " I turned to look at him. Has he grown horns or something.

"I can't, what if.... what if ..they think we are.... "

"we are what? "

"Never mind" I said as I sat on the couch facing the bed.

He took his plate of food and thanked me before eating.

"Is it right to marry when you know very well you're not in love with her? " he asked.
I stared at him to shocked to answer. Why was he asking me all these?

"please answer me? "

"It's very wrong! Especially ,when you know she's so into you"

" But I love someone else"

"Then marry her rather " I added nonchalantly

"what if she doesn't know? "

" Tell her !"
I said. This time, my heart broke into tiny pieces.

"But I'm scared she will reject me"
"Why are we discussing this again " I asked as I stood up. I wasn't going to be have this conversation with him. It only broke my heart.

"Because I trust you and... and.. and I love you"

"Yh yh I know about that! Just as a sister. " I said as I run out of the room.

I run into my room and picked up my phone to call Kamal. The last time we spoke was the day he came here.
